The ' In a RS Display Name

Hi, I was thinking of changing my BGS Pure's Display Name, and was trying some different characters. I just wanted to know, when you put ' in the name, does it appear as a space, or the actual ' ? Does this also occur with the - ?

What about; ";" and "?" and ":" and "*" .. Apparently those are all acceptable in the Runescape Display name.

 

I've seen names with an underscore (_) and a hyphen (-), but none of the other grammar facets you mention. Quite sure they cannot be used, or will appear as a space - though I tend toward their simply not being able to be used.

 

I have seen names like xxxx-xx-xxx (dont remember actual words) but i have never seen the other symbols you have mentioned in a RS name

 

If you read the display names thing, it says that you can only use regular characters, spaces, underscores, and hyphens.

I don't think it lets you add any of those characters you listed. If it does it probably show them as spaces.

 

there was one dude with his name censored but that was from a glitch
E.g. ****ed your mom
Was his name and showed up like that ingame

nope , as far as i know the only non number / letter things you can have is
"-" "_" As these represent spaces

 

Did you seriously take the time to type that out? Fast way of what he said is correct.. Underscores, hyphens, lower and upper case letters only.

 

Yes, because he also forgot "e". Interestingly enough, I have someone on my blocked list from years ago who has a "*" in their name. No clue why or how. Also, this is somehow the same as the person's username, as it hasn't been changed
