tl;dr

 

I don't think it is fair to punish someone for a bitcoin crash. Having to pay $1000 just for trying to help is a bit excessive. It is unfortunate that it crashed but that is how most currencies work too. What if USD crashed?

 

They were holding something notorious for its volatility and only decided to act on getting rid of it after the crash, a week later. They had good intentions but someone's tanking the loss, it's not really fair for anyone that takes it, but doesn't look like he's being punished or paying for it anyway.

 

Okay... I hope the rest of the money shows up. Friday didn't take a risk having someone win $2.5k of his money just to get only $500 more for Jon's family. I'm not trying to be rude, anything is better than nothing so I'm happy for that but I'm upset that Friday's donation wasn't given the urgency it deserved.

 

I'd be interested. I work a lot lately but I also have a quarter of a brain, or possibly even more.

Yeah, I should have worded that much, much, much better. I already acknowledged the mistake as my own and I've told Bogla I'll cover the loss. It was my fault that we had the miscommunication, which is why I'm pleading with @Bogla to let me donate the loss instead of him.

 

I love you to death man but based on that log I see no indication that Bogla was made even remotely aware that he was being merched. I know y'all had the best intentions but if no mention that 100% of the gold wouldn't be purely from gold donations was clearly made, I'd consider that theft. Whoever came up with that idea... I don't know man.

 

I get that, and I admit it as my mistake. As I explained to Bogla, and as all people I actively talk to on Skype know, when I'm at work and on Skype I constantly minimize and unminimize my screen on the lowest brightness so that no one sees it. I have to type as fast as possible and I basically read every other word. As such, I'm not the best communicator when I'm on Skype at work. It's completely my fault that there was miscommunication, which is why I've been insisting to @Bogla to let me pay the difference in the price from the 1.05 gold and the 1.15 gold. It was my mistake so I should pay for it, not him.
