If he actually knows that there is a possibility he will have a hard time with Jagex in the future, then most likely he will step up his game.

Usually people that fail at something are people that don't expect it. But after he reads a post like Sythe's, he will make sure he doesn't mess up his job offer and stick with it.

If he was smart he will be preparing for the job, and training in programming significantly. Only those who work hard will be rewarded.

You botters should learn that too, unless you guys bot to save time for school work etc. Work hard in school and forget about runescape, or atleast make school the first priority because quite frankly you will forget Runescape one day, and regret the time you wasted on it.

 

Cheap shot from Jacmod. Nothing else to say, as other people said, they just lied to us in the last 2 weeks so they could get more money.

I never thought Jacmod would leave like this and turn around for Jagex.

I'm pretty sure you're right and to my eyes, it's what he deserves.
He pretty much only betrayed the bot community.

However, I'm fairly certain if he got fired from Jagex and released a new RSBuddy client, kids would come flocking back, of course there'd probably circulate rumors of mass hacking, etc, etc.

I hadn't even considered this but its so true :laugh: I don't imagine many of the Jagex employees will be particularly warm to him after he has been basically the head of Runescape botting on one of the major botting clients. It's hard to have ANY respect for him at all, based on how quickly he abandoned the community that he had cared about for so long. How does Jagex know he won't turn around and do the same to them one day for a better company? Earning the trust of anybody there is going to take some time after everyone witnessed just how fast he can switch sides.

 

Imagine what Jacmob will be able to do as a mod. He would have his rotten potatoe, could spawn GP, trade it to his mules, then sell it. He could also sell unbans for people. However, I somehow doubt that would happen, as he would be in serious trouble.

 

I doubt Jagex will give him any trust over things like that.

IMO, he's a stupid motherfucker.. he thinks he's the next Geohutz.. but really he's just a nerd who I'm sure Jagex want nothing to do with, other than have him out of the way. I doubt his programming skills are Jagex-worthy tbh. All he did was make a 1MB, basic client.. based on Nexus.

 

I'm not 100 % updated on the market condition, so how much is gold worth a million now? I want to wait before I sell my remaining gold.

True, but I really doubt that Nexus will return.

 

This is the same Jagex that can't make a decent quest without having bugs in it 10 years after releasing the game, right?

Somehow I don't imagine that he's going to be put that high up there. I mean he obviously has a good understanding of the Runescape client if he was able to evade all their other attempts.

 

Just sharing my thoughts.

Something tells me that he has had this planned for a while and that it wasn't a sudden change of heart. Maybe he had the idea during his days at RSBot. RSBuddy 1.5 was finished by the time RuneFest 2011 was around (according to the recently added FAQs of the announcenment topic). This indicates that the idea and plan was in place for some time. Plus the coordinated system updates (RSBuddy's fake and Jagex's). Again, something tells me that he always wanted to do something big. He accomplished just that with RSBuddy (most or 2nd most popular bot program) so there was the next step: work for Jagex.

We will see. Although I believe people are overreacting. Jacmob is agreat programmer and all. He knows Java extremely well. However, you need to remember that he isn't the only one in the Runescape community with that amount of knowledge. Mopar, the creator of Aryan and Moparscape, could easily make a much better client if he decides to come back. Also remember that people are always learning and becoming better at programming. Someone will step up and see that the market for RS botting is vast but few good programs for it.

 

From what I can gather from the interview he's going to be worthless to Jagex when they launch Stellar Dawn, so goodbye Jacmob.

 

That true Sythe; but don't forget, if he does decide to come back. He can always make the bot under a different name with a new alias; essentially new identity.

 

Sythe, have you ever been approached by Jagex to handover or cease the community?

Wondering...

I doubt it, they would have asked earlier then now.
