Wow quite a few of your posts show just how simple minded you all are. Jacmob was running an UNSUSTAINABLE BUSINESS, so it was going to have to end at some point. Also Jacmob created the client for FREE for everyone to use, and he was dedicated to updating it so people like YOU can bot. But now I understand why he accepted the job and Jagex. It was because people like you guys will quite happily slag him off now it doesn't go your way, this is really the thanks he gets for giving 9 months of support to an incredible bot?

Well hell I'd take the job at jagex, if this is really the community I would be providing for.

Yup. Thanks Jacmob for falsely getting everyones hopes up thinking you were going to fix the bot. Thanks for throwing up a timer to let us know when the bot would be fixed, instead telling us that you were bs'ing the whole time and are now going to work for Jagex, and leaving us with a big "FUCK YOU". Thanks Bro!

 

Anyone with half a brain would have known the timer was bullshit anyway.

 

I would take the job at Jagex, they're probably offering him a lot of money for him to go there and show them the art of how he botted and how he can help stop other bots. Still, it all comes down to money at the end of the day.

Microsoft has been providing you with Microsoft word for a few years, you should be happy, but there going to have to take away your Program(Microsoft word) without a refund.
Then they are going to research ways to prevent you from accessing your word documents.

That is a very competent argument, and I agree with the point you made. Business is business, and leading on customers to squeeze out every little bit of profit you could is wrong. There is a clause in the ToS of RSBuddy though that says if you bot is down for more than 7 days you can get a refund on what you have bought... Or maybe I just read it wrong... but.

 

Jagex can go to hell hiring that idiot. Obviously, Jacmob was defeated in this update, and then they reward him with a job. It is a slap in the face to all current Jagex employees who helped get rid of bots to bring in this guy who has been the anti-Jagex from his start.

We don't know all the details, but it is smart for them to hire him. If NeXus decides to pop back up he knows the workings of it so he can take it out. It is like when the government hires hackers that were about to go to jail for hacking.

 

I think Jacmob definitely deserves the credit for how much hard work and dedication he put into RSBuddy and keeping the community happy. But I am also siding with anybody who feels betrayed and backstabbed when he just up and quit, right after the timer he posted counting down to the RSBuddy backlash vs Jagex, and the new client. If he had simply accepted defeat at the beginning, and not lead everybody to believe that they would be botting again within a few weeks, people probably wouldn't have been so pissed. But him and the rest of the RSBuddy owners really did yank everybodies chain...

It also sounds like he is now going to be working with Jagex and getting paid a hefty salary I'm sure, so you can't really blame the guy for wanting to move forward with his life into what I have no doubt will be a flourishing career with a very bright future. But it sounds like he will be working with Jagex to completely stop botting from occuring in the future, which I find kind of shocking

Anyways, I am very neutral to this issue as I hardly ever got to bot anyways, and I immensely enjoy the game now that there is no bots. But it still shocks me from a third party perspective how this whole thing unfolded and how the RSBuddy team literally changed their whole stance on botting almost overnight, and on the drop of a dime. I would love to know exactly what Jagex offered, and what happened at Runefest/in his head to make him commit to such a sudden and drastic change that leaves the RSBuddy community pretty much hanging out to dry. Hopefully we all learn more as this thing unfolds, its quite fascinating. This is major RS history going down right here!

 

They already ended rsbuddy to the point where Jacmob said his best option was to go to Jagex. If they end him, they don't really need him. All other developers will find the same problems with making new clients that Jacmob found in the past week that persuaded him to go Jagex.

 

The thing is that right now we are all just speculating as to what really happened today and the last few days. We just have to wait for the dust to settle and see what all has happened. It will be interesting, as Zerker said, to see how and why they changed their minds exactly. We all know that something went down though.

 

Meh, not to happy about this i didnt mind if they deleted gold farming but it means all skills have to be done legit now OMG.

I 100% agree there hired someone that have previously scammed 1000s of people for there RSGP, RWT many times like you said he wont be to popular.

 

It could of done with out the timer, why make the community wait just to announce that your going to be working with Jagex..
Other then that, I can see why people a getting pissed off, but most of it isn't really needed.
To be honest, I'm not really bothered by it, good for him, he got offered a job that I would assume would pay decently. It's not like abusive comments will make him reconsider and playing legit is fun anyway.
Also I agree with Emperor_Nero, we will have to wait and "let the dust settle" to actually find out the details.

 

Hell, I would of done the same thing. We all like to throw our "educated" guesses an oppinions out, but none of us really know how things worked out, and what happened. Worth having people pissed at you...most likely if he made the decision.
