I've come to a realization that thing's wont change, and thus my ( hopefully constructive ) comment is just causing more drama.

When you were talking about plznate, you said Staff should not be above the law but then you said he did not deserve to be banned for self vouching?

I agree with you that if your a big contributer and you commit a minor offense which had no malicious affect then you should be pardoned as in where you mentioned "Protocol over doing whats right"

I think if you cited more examples of stuff where "Protocol > doing whats right" it would be better cause then the whole community can see what you are talking about instead of just you senior members.

This moreso about the drama that the staff causes.

    Edit;
Thank you, I'll be sure to do that later, as of now I've got homework to do :D should have done that first.

I wouldn't say it's the staff causing the drama. The community as a whole likes to get all worked up over everything the staff does and demands public explanations, polls, debates, etc.

Let the staff handle what they do. We don't need to question everything that that they do.

Why wouldn't the staff explain to the community why they came to certain decisions? There are there for the benefit of the community so why shouldn't the community get to know whats going on or have a say in things?

Although I agree that there are cases that should be handled on a "case by case" basis, I am glad that my ban was handled with the level of forcefulness that it was. I expect that other offenders would be treated in the same way, and am glad that even in the case of a perceived "popular/contributing" member such as myself, rules were applied in a fair manner. Although staff does tend to hand out punishment in a somewhat Draconian fashion, it does set a standard and I am glad said standard is applicable to all members.

I partly agree with but partly don't when a regular member gets banned/infracted the infraction/ban reason is made public where as staff's are hidden, I understand that they helped out the community more then regular members but I believe that there ban/infraction reason should be made public just like everyone elses. Not to make drama but to simply let the community know the reasoning, because if say spyike was banned for spamming on the forums then I might still trade/ talk to him while if he scammed someone I might have to stay away.

ps spyike I don't know your ban reasoning and I've just used you as an example and I would never in my right mind think that you'd scam

So you're saying sythe has become pathetic because of the very staff members that keep it from becoming so?

    Goku Usa, You didn't read.

They are causing the drama and making it pathetic.

Tyro, you have sucked up and have been very good friends with people in high places. You have had your arguments with other members and have acted immaturely, not that I wouldn't in your position, bit it still says something. Don't become personally insulted. Everyone makes mistakes. I for one make many.

I've only been here a few days, so I really don't have specific ones. Just based on what people have said and what has gone done with the Spyike guy issue, it just seems like the staff is full of elitists. Spyike, who used to be a global I take it, is demanding a position back. Hahanerd posting:

Verts telling Spyike to act his age. Nick saying "you're the most destructive, irrational person to have had a place on staff." Your post in that thread was by far the best. I'm not even going to touch Finn's post. And then there is Finn's post in response to the other Spyike post in the dispute forum.

Based on what Magic Arrow posted:

So it seems like people want moderator to feel special and better than everyone else. That just doesn't work. Sectionals aren't special. They move threads around and delete spam. They are basically normal forum users who have volunteered to moderator the forum. Instead of this, they seem to feel special and above everyone else. I don't know what power they are given other than normal moderator powers but I hope its very limited. People when faced with a group, or person that is viewed as superior to them, will normally agree with that person or not speak out against them. So, basically them having any discussion power is really pointless and since they are basically members anyways, they shouldn't be given any more influence than normal users.

Globals are a step up from sectionals. They have experience. This experience does elevate them from the average user in terms of judgment but I would hope these people are mature enough to remember that they are working FOR the community. Instead it seems like they are more worried about fighting amongst themselves. I just feel like its messed up. Why can't members talk about the Spyike issue? He seems like a very important person to many people and they should be allowed to express their feelings freely.

    And.

Number three basically says that the staff know better and you are not allowed to question us. That's obvious elitism and for the most part people really don't like elitists much. But I'm new. I don't know a lot. I just know what I've learned from other forums and from reading other peoples opinions and trying to figure out how this site works.

Um, what does my post have to do with anything. In order to keep the drama at its minimum, I closed the thread to avoid anymore conflicts. Also, Spyike requested a ban, meaning, if he wishes, he can come back. Oh, the reason I started my post like that was because it was in the Spam Forum.

@Divine, don't make assumptions about Tyro if you can't clearly back up your statement. You made a thread about drama, yet you're causing even more drama than necessary.

The drama isn't being caused by the mods though. It's just the members that can't follow the rules and then bitch about it when they get in trouble for breaking them, and then everyone else starts bitching because the person broke the rules. The admins and mods are doing their job and instead of giving them a hard time about it, help them out, or just don't say anything. They get enough shit on a daily basis from members without some other member making a thread bitching about how they do their job. If you don't agree with how they run things, you can leave, no one is making you stay.

I'm not attacking you or the way you made your post in anyway. I see that Nick has edited it now, but it really doesn't matter. The thread its self had no conflicts. It was simply members talking about why Spyike was banned and Magic Arrow and I seemed to have a side point to make. The thread was in the spam forum. Looking around there, that thread was one of the least spammy ones in there.

What causes drama? Hell, what is drama? Unless we have answers to these questions, you can not keep them it from happening as I think we can all agree that drama is bad.

For the record, initially I didn't recognize Hahanerd's reply was in the spam forum. I assumed it wasn't and edited it to make it more understandable. After realizing it was in the spam forum(and before your posted again, Zed) I edited it back.
