The DDos attacks Possible solution.

If this is less expensive than $150 i can pay for it, or atleast donate it towards stopping the ddos

Ok well, Here's the scoop what happend over the past week:

We have been getting ddosed by a botnet like sythe has for the same amout of time (1 week) we ordered ddos protection, yes it did stop it but the ddos still made fagex slow. i have talke dto jaoul because we had some miscosption when we last talked about things.we made a agreement if you guys would stop contacting him over msn please, as this has been done he has stoped. as you can see fagex is faster etc now. me and 1337 macro have been working around the clock 4 5 6 a clock rock lol well you get the point. ALOT OF WORK. they have set it up so the server has some mis configoin. Nothing to worry about just a few bugs that need to be fixed and are getting fixed right now. most of the member's here have been support of to us. most of this is getting paid from my pocket and yes all your dontions we have saved


We thank everyone for helping us and all the dontions have been put through fagex!

The server cost is already phenomenal and where would the money for ddos protection come from?

 

I think DDoS is a big problem for our host also. I don't know anything about server management so how does this DDoS protection work?

 

Spreads the pings or requests out over multiple servers, if its a giant botnet it does nothing much other than ddos the other servers too lol.

 

It would cost alot. So why not have Sythe rake in a bunch of cash and sue them?

 

I agree. Sythe and rs2cheating.us are under the same host and their servers are quite vunerable to DDoS attacks. What protection is sythe using?

 

a) sythe doesn't have the funds

b) sythe doesn't know who is attacking them; chances could be that jagex is behind it, hiring someone to take this site down, ever thought of that?

 

It would help if we could figure out who is attacking us. And also I highly doubt Jagex would spend any extra money or go out of there way to get us shut down.

DDosing is illegal so a large company like jagex wouldnt dare risk their company to do so. It also requires knowledge and the tools to aquire so many bots to bring down a site like fagex or sythe or a relative long time. That would be other 5k bots which is more then enough to earn you a ticket to jail.

 

Wouldn't it be Sythes hosting company that would use this?

 

I haven't gotten a reply from the guy who posted it or the fagex admin , but maybe Sythe or Pen can do that.

 

Which is a reason why some hosting companies would be reluctant to give it to you in that case, lol.

I really doubt all the protection in the world, or that we could atleast afford, would sway the DDoS attacks much.

And no, sorry, but you saying, "Oh noes, Jagex is DDoSing us". Wow...NO, that is the dumbest thing I have heard in a while. Jagex wouldn't take the chances of getting sued or having some of it's people go to jail.
