Error loading of document

I have a problem with Microsoft Word 2010 file. It's giving me an error when I open my .doc file: Error loading of document
Any ideas what might be causing this? how to repair .doc file?

Word documents are just fancy XML files. If you open your doc file with a zip extractor, you will be able to see its different components. Poke around and see if you can spot anything that could cause file corruption. If not, google some solutions as the source of corruption could be anything. You could also try downloading and opening the file with LibreOffice instead of Word.

 

This issue may be started happening after you applied following security update. You may be trying to open a file has the “.doc” file name extension, but the content is a plain text file or another kind of file that is not a Microsoft Word binary file.
