The anime you thought would get good but got worse

Title says it all.

The anime I thought would get good was Tenjou Tenge. An old school highschool action anime.
The anime is 24 episodes long and for like 15 of those episodes it's an entire flash back of another
character who doesn't really play a significant role in the anime aside from being the side antagonist.

The antagonist was in love with his little sister who is friends with the protagonist.
The protagonist always got beaten to a pulp by the other characters. He trained but did not get stronger.
The protagonist had no redeemable qualities.
The ending was tasteless and anti-climatic, the pretentious plot leaves the viewer confused.

Apparently "the manga is better". Sure.

Tell me your anime that you watch and were utterly disappointing by. Feel free to let it all out. I'm listening.

Agreed. I forgot to add that too. I also thought it was going somewhere but it turned out shocking.

 

The irregular at magic high school..

The first fight scene was actually pretty exciting but the episodes in between just seem very boring. I put this anime on pause but I'll eventually get around to completing it, I usually never drop animes. (the only anime I've dropped was Musaigen no Phantom World. I've even completed Prison School even though I prob should have dropped it too)

Sword Art Online, when it first came out , the plot was 10/10. Then as the season went on , it just got rushed. Then the next two seasons of it .......yeah.....

 

I agree on this one Season 2 was very boring. I've put it on halt for a year and I'm on episode 16 of season 2. My sister prompts me to watch it but I feel very lazy to finish it because the second season isn't so great.

First season was alright. The second one never caught my attention to watch after the first episode. Similarly with SAO. But I finished all of SAO.

 

To my surprise this trash anime has a 7.8 rating. I've wasted my time watching the entire anime. The ending is bad put it on hold forever. I was actually going to watch Musigan No Phantom. But meh I guess not.

 

I can see why SAO season 2 may not interest anyone. Is there a season 2.5? And 3?

 

Did you watch Unlimited Blade Works (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works) or Fate/stay night for the second season? (they're the same story except unlimited blade works is newer and much better)

I thought the anime got slightly better after the second season but I guess everyone has different opinions

 

Same, Never got into season 2. I fell it's over hyped so I had high expectations for season 1 which was a let down.

I actually thought Death Note got better as it went on and it never lost my interest. I am not currently caught up to Fairy Tail, but the tournament arc was the last I saw and I loved it (show was continually getting better imo).

It would have to be Soul Eater for me. I was really disappointed in the ending and the show itself lost its flair pretty fast for me.
