Everything will get cheaper except for items that are already easy to buy/sell such as whips etc. Many people will sell rune items/clue rewards when the ge comes out because atm it takes way too many time to sell those.

I'm wondering if I should sell my ranger boots. I bought them a few months ago for 8m, and they are 14m+ atm. Meh as long as no better ranged boots will be released they won't drop.

@Planker they're talking about oldskool, where the GE is new.

Flipping increases price very temporarily, if anything, and when it does it will go back fast enough because that's what flipping is, buy and sell fast. Demand increases price. Flipping doesn't increase demand. Maybe the ease of being able to purchase the items would increase demand.

I feel like this is a possibility. Anything that is even a bit hard to sell would crash with overwhelming supply. Being able to sell it instantly for a decent price (as long as there's enough demand) will be tempting.

How so? I understand people uses the forums or zybez to buy and sell in bulk as it is. If anything this would encourage people to train their Firemaking for example. Oh hey I'm just standing at the bank, may as well buy a few hundred/thousand logs and burn em.

I haven't played in a while but people actually used to make a profit by selling in bulk on the forums. People pays a bit more just to save themselves the time of finding a dozen different seller to train their cooking. That method would be rather redundant with the G.E and the ease of getting a hold of resources. I see how demand will go up, but I don't see supply matching it unless the merchants decides to sell and not undercut each other.

I see slayer items maintaining their price. They will drop gradually, but that's because their supply will exceed the demand unless there is an item sink.

As long as natures stay okay, like 200+ each, I'll be a happy camper :p.

I'll probably do some flipping just out of natural instinct.

This. People will sell their random small quantities of items in their banks which will flood the market temporarily.

Thanks for getting involved everyone, i've personally invested in mass quantities of certain items, that if they do rise ill profit millions, yet if they fall ill lose millions but due to a bit of research, i think i may be in the money!

I'm going to wait until it actually comes out to start flipping, let the initial prices change naturally and then start looking at trends.

Made 700m in RS3 GE in the past two weeks, should be able to play the 07 market decently as well. Especially since I have a large amount of capital to play around with and diversify the items I'm flipping.

GE will bring massive impact on players, they will be in control of most of the prices, besides alch value items, I believe it's gonna be rough for few weeks then prices will be stable.

    Lol lots of differing opinions^

I don't think anyone knows for sure. Also, I think LOTS of people are planning to merch and flip when GE comes out, since everyone will be more aware the second time coming. Given them, I think merching and flipping will be pretty risky when it comes out. I'll let it settle a bit before I invest lots of my money

Yeah but probably less than .5 percent of them know what they're doing or have ever been successful in doing it.

If they can't merchant now they probably won't be able to flip either. Just my experience / opinion though.

If you have the know-how I say go for it from the start.

Pray pots, food and stuff like that will rise because of the flippers, Items that are not "wanted" as much will remain stable or drop. :)
