teamviewer question

Alright so I went on team viewer with some one I just recently met. All of a sudden my friend pms me on msn saying that he might have done something to my cp through team viewer. I quickly close the team viewer browser, my cmputer reboots into safe mode. I just have a few questions.


Could he have done something to my computer with out me knowing over team viewer? If so, can I found out where he downloaded it and what is was?

Why did it directly go to safe mode after that?


Please post back quick, I am very worried about this computer seeming it has all my information on it.

 

Did you type any passwords or anything like that while using it? And was he in control of your screen or were you in control of his?

 

Yes, its possible but your in control of whatever he acesses and you can shut down anytime you like. but i doubt he could of done something without your knowledge because you would have seen him open the files etc.

 

1 reason this could have happened is if you pulled the cord out of the back of your computer. Or click the button on the front. Just 2 of the most ordinary Just trying to help.

Teamviewer notifies you if any file(s) begin to transfer. I believe it notifies you even if he is browsing your directories to receive/send them. He couldnt have done anything in your control panel unless he physically did it which you would have seen. Your computer may have booted into safe mode because of how you shut down, or maybe the startup got changed. Run msconfig and check to see its not booting in safe.

 

Your computer booted into safe-mode automatically due to some sort of "unsafe" or "unintended" shutdown.

The only way he could have done anything malicious through Teamviewer is if you weren't paying attention as he edited settings in your Control Panel.

Even with that in mind, there isn't much damage he can do through the Control Panel that you can't easily fix.
