The Missouri Easter/April Fools Massacre (Not a Joke!)

So, according to different sources, I have put together the massacre in Randolph county, Missouri (where I live) last night. I have read the news reports, during the chaos I was listening to my scanner as well as knowing some of the people who were affected or lived very close to them.

From What I understand this is how it all happened.

Jeffrey Nichols was released from jail shortly before the entire ordeal. I am not 100% certain when this occurred, but from my understanding he was released Sunday March 31st 2013 (the day of the massacre).

A car was stolen from Macon, MO (about 30 miles from my home) around 5pm. Not long afterwards Moberly Police were called to the Moberly, MO Walmart for reports of shoplifting (about 5 miles away from my home). The suspects, captured on surveillance cameras, then got into a vehicle that was the same car stolen from Macon. The suspects are a white man and a black man. The white man is Jeffrey Nichols, a man who I've met before, seen at parties, never actually knew him, just seen him before. The black man, as far as I know is still un-named.

Around 9pm deputies were called to a residence in Higbee, MO (about 10 miles from my home) for reports of SEVERAL stolen guns.

Not long after, Moberly police responded to a vehicle fire. When officers attempted to make contact with the vehicle's owner, cops found the 92 year old resident dead. (unknown causes. The news station claims this happened around midnight, however this happened before any shootings and the shootings happened before 10:30pm, which is when I turned on my scanner, so I do not know the exact times).

Ten minutes later, Randolph County deputies were called to Route D for reports of shots fired. They found the stolen car from Macon wrecked and 2 men shot. What is believed to have happened is the suspects wrecked the car, walked to the nearest home to ask for help and when the men agreed to help them, the suspects shot them both, then stole 1 of their trucks from the residence and wrecked it at the end of the driveway, returned to the home and stole another truck. I knew the children of both of the men shot, I went to school with them. One of them I am told has died on the operating table, he was shot 5 times. The other man was shot 4 times, and last I heard was alive but not expected to live long. (This happened about 2 miles away from my home)

The suspects then drove south and assaulted a nearby female resident, my good friend's grandmother. They beat her with a gun and stole her car. The news report ends there. But it seems more happened as more people I know have family members in ICU over this "game" these 2 men are playing, pulling into random driveways and sounding the car horn and if anyone were to come outside, they opened fire on them.

One person I know vaguely, says her father is in the hospital with 2 broken arms and was shot 5 times in the torso, and MANY times in the left leg, 1 bullet grazed his lung and one hit his esophagus. The bullets have all been removed and last I heard, he was awake and okay, but in ALOT of pain. Their family lives in Moberly, and all of this happened after the assaults within 2 miles of my home.

The scanner reported sightings on the same street my 3 year old daughter and her mother live on, someone on the street called in and reported someone trying to break into their house.

Later gun shots were reported on the scanner on the same street, but police found nothing in the area.

A good friend/ex-girlfriend of mine whom I am very close to lives in Moberly. Her boyfriend had been teasing her and unlocking the door during the crisis. When she slapped him, he walked out and she was scared. Around 4am the scanner told me that someone reported a man standing at their back door on the same street this friend lives on. I could not make contact with her and was very worried, but thankfully found out just an hour ago that she had fallen asleep.

The news claims that people in the Randolph County area of Missouri DO NOT leave their house unless it is 100% necessary and to NOT open their doors for ANYONE until the suspects are apprehended. However, the radio claims that the suspects are believed to have fled the county and may be trying to leave the state.

The suspects have not been sighted since around 5am this morning. I personally believe that they are still in the area. For one, with the vast number of cops that were lining the streets, and I do mean LINING them, there was noway the suspects could have sneaked away without being seen. atleast thats what I believe. If what I believe is true, they will either continue their shooting spree at a later time when they can hide in the night once again, or they will wait until there are less cops and make a run for it.



EDIT: UPDATE: They have found the suspects and are currently in a stand off.

EDIT: UPDATE2: Both suspects are in custody... I was really hoping it would have ended with their lives...



Now, I know many of you will make a big claim on gun control and such, but I've said it a hundred times so I might as well say it again in the OP so people are more likely to see it and not make me repeat myself.

Gun control is not the problem. I can get any illegal drug you want, I can walk up the road and get sum meth fresh off the burners. A criminal can obtain anything, no matter how illegal or "controlled". Hypothetically speaking, if I were to have my mind set on killing mass amounts of people, I could locate and purchase an already illegal to own weapon within around 2 months.

More gun control will NOT stop crimes/murders it will only make innocents unable to defend themselves.

Infact, lets take a look at switzerland. ALMOST ever adult male is LEGALLY REQUIRED to possess a gun! So naturally, the cpita rate of gun ownership is higher than in America. However, they have less crime. Why? A thug with a gun is literally 85% less likely to pull a gun on someone that he believes may shoot back.

Now of course, by thug I dont mean "gangstas" or whatever they're called nowadays, thats the only people that would cause America problems if almost every adult had a gun, although most of them do have guns anyway. Which, may I add, are most usually illegally acquired, so if they are avoiding the gun control laws as they are, they wont stop avoiding them just because the control laws are stricter.

I feel extremely safe here in Canada because I know a red-neck can't get a gun here .

 

These werent "rednecks" it was a black "gangsta" and a white "gangsta" and they were 18 and 22 years old.

 

That's crazy, my thoughts & prayers go out to the victims.

I'm sure we'll be seeing a movie about the tragedy in 6-9 months from now.

 

Nah. stuff around here dont get made into movies. It wasnt a "national" tragedy like sandy hook was... outside of this area the only people who know about it are people reading others talking about it.

 

i think you're right! its not gun control or even catalogging that will solve this issue, its the blatant disrespect for humanity and the law. while there is still this ideal that some people do not have to obey the laws, people need to be able to protect themselves!
