    Tackling the fake site problem

There are two major issue's on are sythe at them being:
    • Fake website in the RuneScape Impostering people like ballersgold and partypete
    • The PayPal guy who post all over the forums asking for people to work for him so we can use Fake PayPal to cash most back (most likely)
The paypal guy is harder to deal with sadly but with this suggestion, we willing be tackling the fake websites. The solution is quite simple. I believe there should a system implement which automatically ban's a user who posts in Runescape section or any other section with domains. Basically, if it picks up a fake domain it should automatically remove and delete the account it was posted from.

    For example
    • Web site one being www.BoglaGold.com should be perfectly fine and able to post without an issue.
    • if a website with the name www.BoglaGolds.com is detected it should automatically ban it.
How will the bot know which domains are fake and which are not? Easy we can have an interface for admin just to type in a domain and simply the bot ban's them.

Why do admin need access to his bot?
Admin's need access to it simply because if they ban one domain a new one will appear.

Why not just wipe the accounts instead of just banning them? The answer to this is quite simple if we wipe all the account's involved. this could lead to issue's if an admin miss types a domain etc and lead to legitment person being wiped.

The problem with this suggestion is not getting approval. The problem is A is it worth the dev time, and B can it actually be implemented.

With automated banning; accidental ones are also introduced. Better off with manually reporting.

yeah manual reporting is the way to go so many accidental bans would occur.

I don't see any reason why removing and deleting fake websites through the use of an automated blacklist would cause any problems.

    Obviously manual reporting isn't working.

Real sellers don't link to fake websites. Lets say even if for some reason Bogla himself came on here and accidentally posted boglagolds.com instead of boglagold.com, It just gets removed and he can repost the real website.

I think it's worth dev time to prevent many scams and improve the websites reputation.
The less users scammed = The more users that stick around and circulate currency through the website.

    Support.

I support as long as the post gets removed and that's it instead of banned. This can prevent accidental bans and still help clear up the problem like @Stream Punk said.

How about; instead of it instantly removing it, when someone posts a link on their post; it requires approval from a moderator? Wouldn't that be a good idea?

(Ofcourse we would eliminate the major links involving sythe.org, skype, hatscript, so on.)

Probably a decent idea too, seeing as legitimate websites don't often get made and posted when compared to the number of fake sites posted

Eek, another idea, for you to be able to instantly have your website approved have x $ donated or like x post count. Just trying to throw a few ideas around.

This requires admins to stay on top of this. Back when it first was an issue we'd have to wait weeks just for one website to be censored, so anything that relies on admins is going to be slow and inefficient

If I was one of the scammers I would simply just use a photo instead of text to bypass this bot.

How do you propose the bot will detect this?

If it cant this is a waste of time and energy.

    Simple,
these websites are faking gold website selling threads by making their thread's look similar to the real one, people would easily be able to pick up unsimualiartys with the real thread if they were to go down this root, so this is simply not a problem

I think you misunderstood me. Youre proposing a bot that will scan threads for text that include fake websites. If it was scanning for text it would bypass pictures.
