    I think the $5 is from the fees of the automated program they are using to call; however, I do agree with you, even Skype Premium is cheaper and you could always pay the user and or staff member calling, surely it would be much more efficient to accomplish the goal of Sythe Verified User

    Although we are using an automated program we have to realize that this only part one, who knows what Matthew has in store for futher levels of verification

    It depends on your mobile provider and your phone plan. The system sends a normal SMS, so it should be treated like any other SMS.

    Will it count as an overseas number? For example I'm in the UK and say the number is in the USA, am I getting charged extra for overseas? Or do they have an international number?

    Im also from UK and i was never charged. Well i check my bill after online and it didn't show noting. It was from an international number However im almost sure its never charges to receive SMS's only to send. however i know picking up calls from an international number charges on both ends.

    my provider is o2 and im also on contract.

    I'm on orange and i'm on contract, but when I was with 02 I got screwed over by the messages like that. If it is just a standard message then I should be alright then.

    You should have gotten a message saying it was pending and waiting for payment and after the payment is accepted that's when you enter your phone number and it shoots you your text/phone call.

    Yeah, but some people have had theirs accepted since that I'm pretty sure I've seen while mine is still pending. Is it only matthew that can accept them?

    1. I don't know if Duo has overseas numbers. You should be able to see what the number is when you receive the SMS. I think most GSM mobile carriers in Europe give you free incoming SMS, so it shouldn't be an issue. But again, it's up to you to ensure there won't be charges, we can't possible know the situation for every mobile carrier.

    2. SytheVerified is automated but PayPal is having an issue with their automated processing system which is causing delays. See this thread: http://www.sythe.org/sythe-org-news/1547733-paypal-donations-bond-payments.html. This means I have to manually accept SytheVerified payments in some cases.

    SytheVerified does not automatically text/call you. Once your payment is complete, you have to go to the user center and enter a phone number for it to use. Just keep an eye on your SytheVerified page in the User Center. Once your payment is completed, you will see the form to fill in for the system to call you.
