Risk of radiation exposure

I have a dream to visit Chornobyl one day. I've watched a lot of movies and articles about that place and after I turned 18 I realized this dream can come true. I am interested is it dangerous for a person because of high-level of radiation there? Your thoughts?

 

That's one of my dreams too, the history involving Chernobyl is just amazing

From what I've saw/heard, the city where the reactor exploded (Pripyat) is uninhabitable and will remain for another hundred years, however with a guided tour and with radiation detectors you'll be able to go there

The harm will only occur if you expose yourself to long periods of radiation

 

I would say so I mean over a certain amount of time. Be cautious of course. I would love to visit an area like that.
