[Sythe] Sythechat Minirank

To increase activity in Sythechat, I would recommend implementing a mini-rank for those active in Sythechat. It could be similar to the Kingdoms mini- rank that was given out to members active in the Kingdoms game. This is just a suggestion to help increase activity. Let me know what you think.

 

Support, I guess this could increase the activity in there a bit.

 

i don't see sythechat as being a community as much as it is a tool for people to trade with. Honestly if we just keep adding miniranks for everything they start to lose their uniqueness and only plaster people's massive sticker collection on every post.

 

Sythechat is the only thing of its kind on this website. There's not really anything left to add a mini-rank to besides this, that we have not already added one to.

 

No support, as I've stated before, we need to work on fixing SC before we start actually trying to get more members into it. As of now, it's not well done. There's many things that need to be worked on.

 

Support. This would improve the activity on it and make more people use it.

 

Would have to only be recieved if they actually typed/chatted. Too many people afk in there already

 

I'm on the fence about this. I would like the chat to be active, but I don't want the activity to be forced.

 

No support. Work on making the chat better before worrying about the activity on it.

 

How do you propose we make it better? I feel like if there was more activity, people wouldn't be complaining about it being below their standards of what it should be. I'm not saying it can't be improved because it is not entirely convenient but I think it is fine.

Support, the reason the IRC didn't have one was because it wasn't 'Sythe Official'.

If you go in there it's just people posting things that they already have threads for that I'm assuming no one cares to see. Clean it up, promote it as a 'community place to talk' and offer a minirank for it.

 

If people wanted to genuinely chat, they would. I'm saying adding an incentive to this is different than from a forum perspective. For this to be implemented, it would have to be automated. Now with that in mind, how would this work? There are other factors you have to keep in mind like, will posting just "." or anything of the sort trigger the automated system? I'm not against this if done properly.

 

I agree, but the ball has to get rolling somehow and using a minirank would probably be a good enough incentive to get people chatting.

 

I feel like moderators should be able to either reprimand or remove mini ranks if the activity is 'ingenue' like you said. Hopefully though it doesn't become something that is neglected like Sythe Live Chat was because there aren't any modlogs involved.

 

You could say the same thing for every other forum minirank, and the forum miniranks don't seem to be a problem. This could be done so you have to make 25+ posts with 5 characters or more, similar to the 5char rule when you post.

 

Protip to perhaps speed up implementation: Include some example miniranks (transparent & 32x32px) and some potential requirements (i.e. certain amount of hours on sythechat, certain amount of visits etc) keeping in mind that certain ones may be more detrimental (i.e. if you said "number of messages sent" then spamming could be an issue).

 

Ok bro thanks for the heads up. Would anyone like to suggest an amount of hours on sythe chat to keep the mini-rank? Perhaps 5 or 10 hours a week. As for the mini-rank itself we could get entries and then have the community vote on their favorite mini-rank.
