Sythe slow connection speed - fix

After reading this post by Matthew on another suggestion thread (found here: - http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=407845)

I'm not sure if this would work, but believe it would. To stop the attack make it so each user has to enter a user and password before entering Sythe. Have username like Sythe and pass as Sythe to avoid confusion. Doing this would stop the average DoS attack (unless they coded there own and made it enter user+pass).
Here's an example, there's another forum I know who use this technique to avoid DDoS attacks:

Not sure it would 100% work to be honest, as somebody could easily code around it. Yet, I don't believe Sigex has the skill to code to be honest. (If it's him running the attack).

Eh, it might work, but it wont work very well. Like you said, it would be easy to code around, I belong to a couple of underground "hacker" sites, and their skills are good. Also, I'm not sure if it will work at all, because dos and ddos just send packets. So I'm not sure if that would be able to stop those packets. Although I'm not really sure, but hey, anything's worth a shot.

Yeah, but most 'hackers' will use a BotNet which won't be programmed to deal with password protected sites, I've seen it done before and sucsessfully. Most people who claim to be hackers are just buttonpushers.

i used ddos deflate scripts on my site and now ddos had a minimal effect if any.

(D)DoS-Deflate script basically monitors and tracks the IP addresses are sending and establishing large amount of TCP network connections such as mass emailing, DoS pings, HTTP requests) by using â€œnetstatâ€ command, which is the symptom of a denial of service attack. When it detects number of connections from a single node that exceeds certain preset limit, the script will automatically uses APF or IPTABLES to ban and block the IPs. Depending on the configuration, the banned IP addresses would be unbanned using APF or IPTABLES (only works on APF v 0.96 or better).
