Chibok Kidnapping

During the night of April 14th, aproximately 275 female students were kidnapped from a secondary school located in Chibok, Nigeria. The students were taken away in trucks, never to see their families again. The government of Nigeria was negligent and the girls still have not returned home.

Badakhshan Mudslides

On May 2nd, there were two mudslides in the Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan. The first mudslide struck killing thousands of people. Once it was done rescue efforts began. While people were being rescued the second mudslide hit causing even more destruction. The mudslides completely leveled the town and left the area covered in 30-100 feet (10-30 metres) of mud. This is the largest natural disaster Afghanistan has had in nearly 2 decades.​

Bearded Lady Eurovision Performance

On May 10th, Austria's very own bearded woman(I think ), Conchita Wurst, won the 59th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. She may not look pretty on the outside, but she has a wonderful voice. She won with flying colors, and sang the power ballad "Rise Like a Phoenix"

I was really shocked at the time naturally. I thought Roary was trolling hard but when I started talking to the other mods it was either the best troll ever or it was actually real and at that point I was excited.

Probably Sarah Hyland. There's no real explanation needed.

I would first and foremost buy a Lincoln Zephyr or a Nissan GTR most likely. I would most likely purchase a different house other than the one I currently live in. Other than that I'd probably spend it intelligently and continue on the path I was planning on going anyway just with a bit more of a heavy wallet.​

Matthew has contributed much to sythe in his several years of service on the staff team, and as such, we're very excited that he decided to answer some questions in this month's edition of Sythe Monthly!

How did you stumble upon Sythe.org for the very first time?

Googling whilst playing RuneScape.​

Prior to becoming an Admin, did you climb the ranks from sectional upwards? How did you end up becoming Richards right hand man, and second in command?

I started as a Global. From there, I gained Admin by helping Richard with our conversion to vBulletin from phpBB. During the conversion I needed admin to move data/settings/etc. and after the transition he let me keep my spot. I've only lost it twice because I can sometimes be a pain in the ass haha. Ultimately I'm not sure how I got to being his right hand man. I think it has to do with the amount of work I've put into the site and the new features/things I've developed to enhance it. I've written a lot of the additions to the site including the NextGen theme, User Center, SytheVerified, mTweaks (ModScores, FunRanks, MiniRanks), SytheChat, blah blah.​

In your opinion, up till now, what has been the most significant moment in Sythe.orgs history?

I'm not really sure... I think different people would consider different moments the most historic. I'll stick with my being promoted to Admin as the most historic... ​

Could you give us a general quick insight into the daily tasks you must perform in order for Sythe.org to run smoothly?

It depends on the day. For the most part, I look over PMs and see if people need anything. Unfortunately I'm not the quickest to get back to people, but all the PMs I get are read and PMs are the best way to contact me. I also approve pending donations and approve pending donor perks.​

Any wise words for the community?

Follow the rules? I think the biggest thing people screw up is not reading and/or not following the rules. We have them for a reason and people have no right to complain when banned for violating them! I would also say BE SAFE online. Use a middleman, don't download software that isn't from a trusted source, and so on.​
