Sythe.org Official Teamspeak Server

I'll look into getting a temporary server set up until we get the Official one working again.

 

The admins can see your IP now, what is the difference. Main concern is that untrusted people get made admin of the TS.

 

I'm guessing this is aimed @ Trin..

Pety, you cant judge someone because they aren't trusted among this community. Obviously, theres a reasoning behind it; probably on the lines of; if N4n0 isnt around(works ya'know?), and trin is; things can be answered.

Delta and N4N0 are the Founders and I am the Admin. This TS has been running under the same three Administrators for months since it was created. We have no intentions on sharing anyone's IP information with anyone. If that were the case, then it would have made headlines news by now. All personal information is secure and will never be shared.

 

I would offer my verification of this.

I have been in the TS on multiple occasions over the past months and it has always been professional and handled with maturity. Sure, I may have received 1 minute bans for saying "no balls/overies you won't do it", but these bans have always been in good fun and consciousness and have improved overall TS morale without harming anyone's feelings or reputation. All three administrators, N4N0, Delta (Minarex), and Trin, as well as the moderators in the chat, Ziggily among others, are active members in the TS that are there to handle trolls and other potential problem starting behavior (spamming/excessive flame).

As for the information gathering/sharing.... it really is redundant. The internet no longer possess the majority of the anonymity it possessed in the past. Having N4n0, Trin, and Delta be able to see my IP is not a big deal. They use this information to issue IP bans and to verify Sythe.org membership status. I.E. I can't join saying I am Richard and scam someone on the TS, if I do, my IP is there and it can be traced back to me. In fact, I am HAPPY to have this system in place. It gives me a sense of loyalty and trust in the system that is in place.

If you REALLY desire your internet anonymity, go download a paid VPN, run it, and then do whatever it is you do behind 2+ proxies. Then you will have at least a tiny bit of anonymity.

Look, I have a teamspeak server, 10 slots, but still.
I won't provide it to Sythe.org users for this IP issue, I don't want people to go haywire over that.
Understandable ofcourse, seeing as any TS admin can just look at the connection ip, or even a list of IP's that connected over the last few months.

I'm saying, if a new/temporary teamspeak would have to be setup, it'd be by the founders or admins of the server currently, so offering help is very nice, but it just can't be done.

 

Yeah, figured people wouldn't be too happy about it but hey, just an offer.

I guess we live in sad times when people have to worry about this sorta stuff.
