Sythe LoL Tournament Ideas

Thinking of something along these lines.

Wonderful skin and RP prizes, things that can't be sold.

My question is, what could we use that gives all players a solid chance? Sythe has a very high skill average compared to other online communities. For example I'm gold and I'm below average compared to most of these users.

Ideas for prizes/contests/tournament etc?

Obviously an in-game trial.

I'd love to see a tournament, but I doubt that Riot would officially sponsor it (elo boosting, account selling, referrals, >.> )

Then in that case, I'd love to see a tournament. Someone could possibly stream it too! Only problem is that everyone's elo probably differs greatly here, but that can be easily fixed

I was considering hosting an LoL competition as well, but I can't think of any other way to go about in doing it other than tournaments. Preferably 2v2 IMO. In terms of prizes, you should do $25/$20 RP for first, $10 RP for second, and $5 Starter Pack for third

You're right, Riot won't be sponsoring a Sythe LoL tournament. But if we set up our own tournament it would be pretty cool. There are a few streamers on here too so they could possibly stream games. I just recently played in a Riot sponsored tournament and it was pretty well organized.

Streaming is a good idea, but not if it advertises Sythe.org, for obvious reasons.

Could try doing 1v1 tournaments. Diamonds aren't guranteed to beat out say golds in a 1v1 but a group of 5 diamonds are pretty much guranteed to beat out a group of 5 golds in a 5v5.

1v1 essentially takes out the sense of map awareness, objective control etc.

That's been done before. Stickly hosted it a couple of months ago. He still hasn't even given out prizes for the winners yet

That was a mess with virtually no rules, though. 1v1 is probably the only good way to have much of a real tourney.

Best way is 1v1, same champs. This is the best way because it shows skill level instead of the traditional pick to counter and such such.

 

1v1 single elimination tournament would be fairly simple. How do ya'll feel about it? We'll vote on champions here, and each tier will be the same champion.

Example, everyone's first game will be teemo vs teemo
everyone that is in round two will play thresh against each other
etc, etc.

That sound good? I'll talk to le important people to talk to Richard bout the minirank prizes, and hopefully we can get boosters to donate a division of boosting as a runnerup or vice versa.

That's a bad idea, it should be up to the two players and it should be best out of 3 or some sort.

Small Example that could happen:

Player 1 picks 1st round game
Player 2 picks 2nd round game

Coin toss to see who goes pick last game

OR they can just keep playing until someone has 2 wins in a row.

Fairly easy and simple.
