@Sythe, IP Issue

Nick Unbanned my IP 48 hours ago, however I'm still having the same issue.

Im currently using proxies such as hidemyass/vtunnel/proxyusa etc, but its blooding annoying as they barely work. I cant quote properly, use html, delete messages and so on.

This is what I am getting.

Did Nick confirm your IP had been unbanned?

 

Yes, Nick confirmed it was unbanned.

No, my IP is static, and yes, I checked my IP to the one Nick unbanned, and it's the same.

 

Have you tried clearing your cookies + cache in your browser? If in doubt, try another browser and see what happens.

 

Cleared all saved passwords, history, cookies, cache, everything on chrome, to no avail. I tried Firefox, same result.

 

How are you connected to the Internet? Through a wireless router or directly through a modem? If wireless, reset your router.

 

Will reset in an hour or so and update. I'm connected via wireless. Modem is in another room.

 

Update: Reset router, turned everything of, still no change.

 

Meh, drop Nick another PM then and say you're still IP banned.

 

Once had this issue on my iPhone, but then used my PC and I was able to access Sythe freely. Both were connected to the same Wifi network. Is there another Computer/Tablet/Laptop/iPhone you can try?

 

Sythe himself has to resolve this I was told.

 

This happens to me at least 3 or 4 times a week. I have to go through www.sythe.org/ip.php thing and it's usually resolved in a few hours. I find it's because I leave my Sythe logged in on my iPod or mobile and log on to the computer before logging out of there. Do you use Sythe on any other devices?

 

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it.

Automated unbans on sythe are extremely slow and will often take atleast a day more than they're supposed to before any changes are made. I wouldn't be surprised if its the same even if its manually removed.

Give it some more time and see.

 

Only from my own laptop. I'll give it a few more days and see the result.

 

Sometimes as little as having more than 1 Sythe tab open can cause it, so I've been told. Make sure to close them as soon as you open a new one.

Edit: Clarification provided below, I was confused as I get the same message for a firewall block. Ty n4n0.

 

Not really. That would create a firewall rule that would block you, not a vbulletin ip ban, which is what hes experiencing. Also, the firewall rule was loosened slightly after i contacted sythe about it a few weeks ago as i was frequently being hit by it.

Use the ip address unblock link and go from there.

Just enter it there and submit it, it should get done within 24 hours. I think only Richard, Matthew and Govind can do the IP unblocks, although it could be all the admins.

 

I'm confused? My IP isn't blocked via the firewall? It's blocked via the VBulletin IP ban?

If you are getting IP banned message on vBulletin, PM Nick or another admin again and explain the situation.
