Sythe gold to sticky threads

Not sure if this was suggested before but I think Sythe gold should be used to sticky threads for a short period of time.

I feel like these threads can be inside and outside of the market. This would be a good way to use Sythe gold and also get your threads more attention.

Maybe for more gold the threads can also have a special icon to get even more attention to customers or other members of the forums.

 

This has no relevance to my personal stance on his pardon, but what does his DNT have to do with suggestions? There's a reason DNT users aren't blocked from seeing the section, unlike the markets and many others. There's no reason why a suggestion that could potentially have great impact on Sythe shouldn't be introduced just because he is DNT. The whole purpose we switched to the DNT system years ago [as opposed to straight perm bans] is so that users who did wrong but wanted to make things right could invest time into the community and show that they've changed.

I really like this idea. We've been wishing, for years, that sythe gold had a purpose. The issue is just that I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement and/or if Sythe would even care to do it, candidly. I'm going to hold my vote and wait to hear the opinions of some that have a better understanding of ease of implementation.

There would certainly have to be rules in place around how long threads would remain stickied, how many could be stickied at once, etc. I could see some issues arising out of the suggestion.

 

In my experience with those type of forums, legitimate sellers are typically the ones who are willing to invest some money into stickying threads. It tends to be a nice way to naturally distinguish between vading newcomers who are trying to make a quick buck and users who intend to sell honestly. Moving lots of of those type of sellers to page two, in theory, could reduce the occurrence of scams. That might be a bit of a stretch, but my point is that the suggestion warrants discussion.

 

I like your idea and thinking process, but I do not believe it will play out the way you hope. For that, I am saying no support.

Reasons:
1. Big market users already take up the majority of market threads. They have paid bumpers that bump every 4 hours. That means their threads are bumped six times a day. I’m lucky if I can manually bump three times a day. Already a disadvantage to the smaller vendors.

2. It’s another hurdle for small vendors. On top of earning vouches, they have to make Sythe gold so that their threads stay relevant.

3. Sythe gold farming - more spammers are trying to get Sythe gold.

4. Obtaining Sythe gold without spamming is to buy it, resulting in the big vendors buying all the Sythe gold.

It’s like a rich stay rich suggestion. Don’t get me wrong the prominent market users were once irrelevant and worked their way up, but we shouldn’t give more disadvantages to smaller vendors.
