Mini Ranks of Banned Users

Just throwing this out there, idk where it will lead to..

I say staff should collect the banned users mini ranks and give them away?

Maybe as some sort of reimbursement to scammed users?

If the scammer had mini ranks, then the user who had gotten scammed could possibly get their mini ranks as some sort of partial reimbursement from Sythe itself ?

I'm sure this is a completely shitty idea.

But hey why not throw it to the dogs in the spam forum first..

If someone were to get banned in my opinion they should definitely get all mini ranks removed for the punishment of them scamming in the first place.. Keeping donor status after scamming is good enough

Well it would be reasoned out by a mod or admin who take time to look at bans for scamming etc

That's true, but maybe if this was implemented, maybe they can keep an eye on who ever is about to scam quit better because of this. Could help to catch future scam quits in the future

 

If I remember correctly, users' miniranks used to disappear whenever they got banned, even if it was a security ban or a ban not related to scamming. I believe Sythe or one of the admins said the original concept of this was that the banned users' miniranks would be given away as you're suggesting, but i'm pretty sure the plans for this were eventually scrapped. Also people who were security banned etc. got pretty sick of losing their miniranks, so he made it so they weren't removed on ban anymore.

Right that's why there shouldn't be just a code that takes away the mini ranks, it should be an admin / mod to do it personally, while reviewing the scam case, with maybe a click of a button to get ride / take the mini ranks instead of them automatically going away

 

People get banned for other reasons that aren't necessarily malicious though, being hacked for instance. There's also the possibility of an accidental ban or an incorrect ban.

They should just stay on the account, if they're never unbanned that's less miniranks floating around.

It could potentially be a fun idea but there are a lot of other ways we could do minirank competitions. (Community development events, private giveaways, etc).
