the greatest band of all time? In my opinion, they're definitely at least in the top 5, probably the top 3.

Not just the fact that their music sounds so damn good (&addictive) but that it hits home with so many truthful messages on the MANY MANY issues we have in this fucked up world we live in.

I mean seriously, I don't think I've ever heard a band rant and scream about fucked up politics, genocide, rape, sodomy, drugs, murder, racism, and society's ignorance, and have it sound like such sweet, sweet music.

Not only that, but how they encourage free thinking with their lyrics, and how they try to encourage people to take a stand in their government and realize just what kind of bullshit is being pumped into your head by the mainstream media with its various forms of propaganda.

To me the band is just so amazing it's overwhelming. What are your opinions?

 

yes they do include truthfull things in their songs and chop suey just owns .

 

What they stand for is all one-sided. All they're about is government and society, that is admirable but that's what they're limited to. I have to disagree, they aren't the greatest band ever. The greatest band ever would be a band that looks at both sides of an issue, and expands those limits more than System has brought to the table. I don't like their music much anyways, it's original, and I have to admit they're good, but it's not my kind of music.

 

Yeah, SOAD is a good band, but not my style at all. Too alternative for me.

 

are quite possibly the crappest band ever.... they have an ocasional good chourus then then just have to ruin it with some horrible screaming.

 

I hate the singer, or maybe i should say: I hate his voice.
Which ruins the songs.

Some of the songs are quite good. But i've heard way better bands.

Yeah, defenitley in my top 5 bands. When it comes to politics, Rage Against The Machine is way better at expressing their thoughts. But yes, amazing band, I have all of their albums. I think their older stuff was better than their newer, some of their new stuff is great though.

Yeah that and they have some really random songs sometimes, Like they just blend together you can play 2 songs back to back and they sound like just 1 big song.

And I admit some of the other bands I see you guys are into are really good as well.
I love Slayer, and Breaking Benjamin has some nice albeit emo-borderline songs.
Rage, however just seems a bit too rant-y to me. Idk.

ALSO, I LOVEEEEE Lamb of God now.
They're now Top 2 or 3 for me..
