strength 1 defence 1 wtf

i been killing chickens and cows all day why aren't my strength and defence going up???only attack is

 

trollin?

try changing the fighting mode in the tabs.
Depending on how you attack, youll gain experience for different skills.

im new to rs so bare with me.. how i change fight mode??

 

Ok i have seen alot in my life, but this kid is really hilarious.
Left click the double swords in the left corner of your tab and change your style.

 

Go to the button above your inventory all the way to the left with the 2 swords crossed. If you hover over each attack style you can see what kind of EXP you will get for using each attack style. Some weapons have different attack styles that give attack, strength, defense, or a combination of the EXPs. I understand your new dont worry about it. If you have more questions feel free to ask.
