    Ello all.

I've recently acquired plenty enough Internets to stream and upload yt videos.

    Any suggestions?

Not sure what I'm playing yet, as I'm selling my LoL account and I'm not very good at CS:GO :/

I may just play around random games and throw it up, hope to get viewers on yt.

BUT the point of this thread, I need a mic/camera that'll work for this. Seperate mic from headset mic obviously, I have astros and I'm looking for high quality but affordable recording. Also one that doubles as recording acoustic guitar would rock (le pun)

Honestly, the mic on the astros would work great for recording. If you ABSOLUTELY INSIST on a standalone mic, go w/ a Blue Yeti.

As for the Cam, pick up a decent 720p or 1080p Logitech camera, and you'll be golden. No need to go overkill on that.

I just wasn't sure how good my speech quality would be.

What about the programs for recording in-game for yt upload?

I use my Astro A50's to stream (Mic+Headset), though I do have a Blue Yeti on its way. Astro's mic is pretty good, and you should have no issues using it.

OBS is the best free streaming/recording program IMHO.

    He's live right now dude.

    www.Twitch.tv/n4n0teh

The blue yeti is something I have - I would personally recommend it although many seem to switch over to AT2020's after (sheerly because of it's size)... http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT2020-USB-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B001AS6OYC/ref=pd_cp_MI_0

I'm not sure why else they would switch, as when you're streaming and making youtube videos the quality difference will NOT be noticeable. The only time it will be noticeable is when you start encoding as FLAC or another loss-less or high-quality audio. -The Yeti is large. Make two fists and put them on top of each other... That's ROUGHLY the size of the yeti.

Also, keep in mind that if you are investing in a high-quality microphone you should also consider the investment of an arm/boom for it, a shock mount, AND a pop filter.

As for a camera - I believe the one that n4n0 uses for his stream is a Logitech C525: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Webc...&qid=1405211278&sr=8-1&keywords=Logitech+C525

I have been looking at the one slightly above this, but have not popped on it yet (Logitech C920). You won't need it as your camera will only encode up to 720 on stream... and even that's a little gracious.

I would hardly call my stream "Hella Successful" - It's growing, but still really small. As for tips, biggest tips I can give are all the pretty basic things. Interact, have a schedule so people know when to expect you on, interact, interact, and oh yeah, interact.

Yours is successful enough. More than most people will see. The tips I need are starting off. Most people that I see have like 0-1 viewer at all times and get discouraged.

Best suggestion I can give for starting off, is to try and network. Get your friends in your stream to start off, and start watching/hanging out in other streams. Chat w/ the viewers and the streamers, make some friends, and let them know you also stream. Don't blatantly advertise yourself, big no-no, but casual talk doesn't hurt, and will ultimately get people to check you out now and then. If people enjoy the stream, they'll not only return, but in most cases, they'll spread your name. From there, it's just a matter of keeping an entertaining stream going that makes people want to return.

I had a bit of help from a couple other streamers once they found out I stream. They threw my name out, raided me, etc., which helped me get a foot in the door. From there, it just takes persistence.

Personally, I'd say go with the Blue Yeti if you don't have ANY background noise, and a quiet keyboard (meaning no loud smashing noises when you lightly tap a key, etc.). I hear the Blue Snowball is nice for a cheaper alternative, as well.

The Logitech C615 is a nice, high quality webcam you could use, as well, if you decided to use facecam.

If you're looking to upload youtube vids with your cam and shit, OBS is really good for it. While being a free program, you can just do local recording with your game and have a camera overlay, and best part is, with the flawless quality you get very low file sizes.
