Stop locking news threads

Clearly the community doesn't like what you did and you go ahead and lock the thread to try to censor the discontent? How the fuck did you think that was going to end? Censorship just leads to more discontent.

 

I agree to locking news threads just to prevent gravedigging, but staff does need to allow at least one week before locking.

That thread was getting childish as it is, if you have feedback to give to a staff member then you all know where to go for it.

 

People were giving there honest opinions on what they thought of the promotion and they're entitled to do so. If you think people's FEEDBACK on a staffs decision is childish then tell me, where else should we post our thoughts? Stop being salty that you didn't get the ex mod fun rank it's really getting annoying now.

 

The announcement threads are not intended for long-term feedback. If people are not happy with this activity or whatnot, then go post in his feedback thread.

I don't get u long-term feedback? The threads been open a couple of days, it should stay a sufficient while longer so that everyone is informed. There isn't actually an issue with the thread being open, your just trying to justify a shitty decision lol. Yeah your general attitude stinks, feels like your riding dick to try and get the fun rank but it ain't gonna happen bud.

 

Long term feedback in terms of use the feedback section for actual feedback, the announcements thread is really for voicing your opinion.

I'm not trying to get involved with this, but: if the announcement thread is for voicing their opinion on the promotion (congratulating, justifying the promotion), then why shouldn't it stay open for a couple more days? Personally, a week on the announcements shouldn't be too much to ask for. If the thread is getting spammed (opionated), we do have a moderation team for a reason. report the posts and let them do their duty.

 

I think they Locked it after demoting him as it would no longer be relavant since he isn't a mod anymore....

I think they already demoted him due to obvious community discontent and inactivity. ..

I've noticed @Astro always tends to close them if it is becoming a few pages too long. Pretty sure it was closed before demotion and I agree that news threads be closed if there is just comments complaining when there are suggestions/feedback sections for that reason. Yeah it's annoying they get closed, but definitely agree they do. Two pages of people telling staff that it was a bad promotion .. and then after that it pretty much arguments revolving around it.

 

We do it with all threads after a few days to prevent excessive spam - it's nothing unusual

 

Not even two days passed before you closed the thread.

 

Dark was demoted after not even logging in, and the thread was closed due to no longer being relevant.
