Steam Related-Sales Moderator Activity Lacking

I agree. It seems to be rarely moderated. I'm a novice at anything Steam related as it seems most of the Staff are aswell. Would be good to get someone up in there who's familiar and experienced with the Steam market.

 

Most actually linked me to a seller and it was confirmed through the vouches they showed me, all of it happens off site and I'm sure their sellers get it illegally but that is hard to prove when you have no ability to check anything off site.

 

I agree, I've seen far too little moderation of the Steam SF and think that a proper staff is required.

And this does seem to be the only secure way to handle Steam trades (by that I mean the least risk, as you mentioned the seller can always lie). I mean, the same thing goes for all trades on here: you've gotta be careful. Everything is a risk

As far as Steam SF moderators, I suggest we have one of the admins write up an application for us to fill out. We will need at least 2 moderators (I can't imagine all of the moderation work being lumped onto just one person). But as far as Steam sale moderation goes, I'm game for the position!

 

I agree with this but if people who are trusted were to tell me that they can verify for me I accept that also.

 

As far as I know, members can't request to be a mod and there is no application to become a moderator. I think the moderators have their own private thread where they decide who qualifies to become one.

 

That's true. I guess what I meant to say was to post in those staff suggestion threads. I've seen posts like "xxx for staff!" "yyyy for global!" and etc...

We'll see what the staff thinks!

 

There will be no application to get mod. That is up to staff to add mods.

Or ignore what I'm saying. I continue to tell you guys that IF SOMEONE TRUSTED CAN VERIFY THEM PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I CAN HELP WITH THIS.

I report posts everyday in Steam section, and it is me who has reported those 4 digits were Dave just says you will verify them. MitchelltheGreat has just taken action from what is going wrong here..

Please leave this thread only to discussion about how the Steam Related Sales can be improved. If you guys want to talk about verifying steam accounts/any other steam related activites, add djweasel's Skype.

Currently, I believe DJ has posted some suggestions up in SL which are waiting to be discussed. We will wait until N4N0 or Firez or any other Mod/Admin gives feedback before any action takes place.

 

The section is lacking moderation, before sengira I was heavily involved in modding that section...but of course it has been a few years...and I have never logged into steam once in my life and never plan to.

 

Instead of assigning a random person to moderate that section, why not just give permissions to an existing sectional to help out in the section?

I mean, dealing with steam related issues is simple, the thread is being posted to help the section, so members of the community will most likely be more than eager to help the sectional do his/her job properly and teach/tell what they need to do and how to do it..

 

I will take care of this tonight when I am done with work and figure this out.
I'll get something lined up with you about helping verify the accounts.
