Starting a bot farm in 2018?

    Hello everyone!

Would starting a bot farm in OSRS in the upcoming few months still be feasible?
Such as.. have GP sales been declining for the past year?
    Have ban rates increased?
Have scripters left the OSRS market the past year?

I've found some nice GP making methods. Already aware of how to bot effectively. Just not sure if I should commit.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks kindly

Not worth in my opinion ban rates high, gp prices for selling is like .75 u would need a private scripter and nearly every method is known by a bunch of people so it's farmed

    Hmm...
Considering VPN, script costs, virtual assistant, and other operating costs (including bans, etc), it wouldn't be worth at all?

Upfront cost would be lets say $200.
    $.75m = 266m to recoup costs.
say an average of 300k/hr. ~10 hour bot run time per day. 5 days a week. 50 hours. 15m per account.
(I'm aware of methods to make much more than 300k, some of which I believe aren't that well known, low requirements etc)

    VPS:
    8 clients for $45/mo.

    Say 16 clients. $90.
$10 starting gp for some accounts.
    $100 left to purchase scripts.

    16*15 = 240m
    Loss of 26m first month.

    Profit
    107m for the subsequent months
    Profit $80...

Put back into the business, purchase more clients etc, it would be worth it in 3+ months, no?

I have two decent computers aswell. I could purchase proxies to utilize them instead to boost the 16 bot figure to 32.

It's easier said than done. Unless you're an elite scripter and can make everything automatic, you'll need to experiment a lot before making it work. Since you said you'll be using an unique method, that means you probably won't be able to find a paid public script out there. Private script will cost you a lot, you'll need to communicate with the scripter a lot, it will take a while to be written. $100 isn't enough to purchase a good private script.

Suicide farm isn't worth it imo unless you can make everything automatic. With mid-long term bots, you'll get banned a lot at the beginning until you find the right method (if you can). You'll need to test and find the right scripts. Ban rates are pretty high at the moment and gold prices are low. It's up to you if it's worth your time.

If you have to ask questions it probably isn’t for you, as people have stated accounts nowadays need to be suicidded so basically all steps need to be automated or you’ll be spending your life at a computer earning like 50c/hr

No, unless you are really good at scripting or have some crazy unique method
Gold prices have been going down
    Yes alot
Yes but for good reason, look at the first 3 answers

Edit: just saw your calculation, you need to be considering ban rates, i had a mining farm and half or more were banned after 2/3 days and i was making profit after 5 days. The only real way to make money was when a random account went unbanned for weeks (dont ask why)

The problem with starting one now is mainly the fact most spots and methods are over saturated. If you can find a unique method that will make it worth your time sure.

But look at it this way you need to factor in setup costs (VPS, Private Scripts, Bonds for bots, Buying bot accounts because in the end it is always more efficient) now factor in how much your method will make per hour, time the items take to sell, time it takes to sell the gp, and overall ban rate.

Is it worth it? Potentially, but flipping gp will always be less hassle and better IMO.

Not worth it. Ban rates high, gp price low
