Star Ocean 3 Gameshark V2 Help

[parapa]

Hi i bought a brand new small mini ps2 and a gameshark version 2 along with it and the codes for my star ocean 3 dont seem to be working, when i load the cheats and switch the disc the screen stays blank and freezes. Would appreciate any help or even better if you could hook me up with the codes for it.
