Looking to create a staker, but I need some help with possible builds and stat advice. I know the basics, high hp and low pray.

Right, so what builds do you suggest? What can I do to get increased PID? All advice appreciated.

What kind of staking do you reckon you accel in? I prefer boxing, but there are so many types.

If you have no preference, I can put in a list of different builds, but it'd be much simpler if you had a vague idea of what type of staking you want to get into.

---

As for PID in 07scape, this is determined primarily by your IP, then secondarily by whether you logged in before the other person or not.

So, assuming your IP is giving you a disadvantage, you would just take steps to change your connection IP.

I would like the best build for a boxer actually, or for weapon staking. But maybe something completely different? Would a range staking pure be able to beat a staker with 70 defence and 10 range? Stuff like that I'd like to know. Weird builds that give amazing advantages to the unwary perhaps.

How can I tell if my IP is good or bad for staking?

You could build a low level mage boxer. 92 magic, 11 prayer (for desert treasure), 1 defence and high hp level (possibly trained with strength). :)

For IP, the third numeric set needs to be divisible by 8. I forget the rest tbh...there's more to it and someone on this subforum explained it but I can't remember!

As for boxer, you want to be concerned about Att, Def, and HP. I'm not saying to make your Str level nonexistant, but it doesn't have to be even with your Att and Def (unless you want to be a maxed boxer, obviously - but that's the realm where skill comes more into play than stats).

Possible builds include:
70 Att
50 Str
70 Def

--

80 Att
65 Str
80 Def

--

90
80
90

--

99
99
99

etc. etc. etc.

The other option of course is to stay even, no matter what stats you stop at.

EDIT:

The weird builds that can be successful, hmmm....

One that is successful but it's kind of difficult to find stakes for is having really high Attack/Defence, low Strength, and doing armour ON duels. You'd mainly be versing failed mains in duels like this, though.

Another ownage account, which also involves armour on, would be a Veracs staker...since Veracs wrecks.

if you are looking to get a taste into the staking area, i highly suggest a mid-low combat range pure. You do weapon only/ armor if you and him can agree to it. he will be confident because stakers feel that melee > range, but to be honest, knives annihilate no-armor and they're tied for the fastest weapon in the game, so your advantage is extremely noticeable with a solid range level.

To test it out? the stats i suggest are:

60-70 range
50-60 defense
1 prayer
1 mage
melee: depends on you; can't go wrong with a low attack and strength just to be wielding like a mithril scimitar.

Remember, as a staker you need a presentable aura to get the stakes you want. Odds are there are kids your level that have (A) Been staking and essentially scamming want-to-be-stakers [I am not calling you one of them, simply stating their reason for staking] since about 2003 (B) Kids that will finally have picked enough flax to get that rune scim and an additional 20k to go lose to you.

You want choice (B) obviously, but you need to develop a system to make yourself look like "fresh meat".

The stats are obviously key, but people downplay the buildup to the staking as simply being a part of the flow. Back in the day I had 99 range 99 defense and I won hundreds of millions by acting like a total dumbass. You have no reason to believe me about it but I just want you to take a second and realize that the majority of people playing runescape, especially staking (a high risk game), will be teenagers and naive players.

Any opinions against points I argued are surely valid, so feel free to correct me as it's late and this is just my thought process on it.

TL;DR high range high defense high stupidity and always have backup cash on another account. Getting cleaned is the most demoralizing experience in this game.

I know a thing or two about that. Back in the day I had an account with 70 mage and ancients, dressed like a noob, then milked mains for bank by freezing them. Only thing is, I'm not sure the noob population is very high in 07scape. It seems to me that 99% of people are wise to every trick in the book.

Now that's something! A verac staker... I remember wanting to build one back in the day but never getting around to it. I think I'm really going to do go for that but... can I box with it? You put down 70 40 70 for boxing stats, and apparently that's the stats veracs stakers need. It'd be nice to have both options.

Well, yeah, the good thing about Melee is the wide variety of stakes you can use with it.

Before you get deep into it you'd definitely want to decide your goal stats before hand - especially because you'll need to figure out the combat level base you'd want to stake in!

I'm thinking 70 50 70 with 65-70 hp for a nice 70 something combat. One thing, will veracs be good against a main who's praying melee?
