Do you all seriously think that the actual topic of the eBook played no role in the number of copies sold? He invested days into creating a lengthy, professional piece of writing, so stop acting like you received nothing for your "donated" money when you knew exactly what the fuck you were buying. Also, he even said he didn't buy a laptop with the money (not that it would have mattered if he did, it could have been used for school). Why can't you just take his word for it and leave him be?

Hopefully you're all happy with yourselves. He resigned.

Today is the day you people who couldn't leave well enough alone drove one of the best administrators out of his position. Congratulations.

If he chose to resign because of a few criticisms than that is his choice. Don't blame people because they gave feedback.

well you got what you wanted, I cant believe how fucking ridiculous this got to a point that Finn had to justify how he used the money he had received via sales, actually come to think about it, Finn seemed to have to justify pretty much every single thing he ever did, all he got was criticism, yet has had huge influence on some if not all of the most substantial changes here on sythe.

He was a good admin, but if he feels leaving is the right decision for him, so be it. No one asked him to leave; they only asked him to acknowledge a fault.

I made it clear that if a user is banned or resigns the places wouldn't be filled. When you run a 64 player tournament, you'll understand why.

Sigh. I thought I made this clear with you already. No, I don't have a biased against you; due to the number of entries and polls being limited to 25 options, I just choose not to include what I felt were troll or inappropriate entries - I told you this a number of times last night. To anybody wondering what the entry was - http://sythe.org/showpost.php?p=9608985&postcount=31

Nobody forced Finn to resign, he simply stated because of university. Second I bought the Facebook ebook, saw something was incorect, and then pmed Finn (with the solution to), no achknowledge of it being changed ect, so in my eyes all of them will be wrong if anybody purchased after me. Then see the macbook thread, which annoyed me as I thought the same which then led me to believe he didn't care as long as he got the money; If he didn't change it the guide would become useless in one place? All it would of taken is a pm saying "changed it".

He achknowledged it on his thread when I posted its incorect in my feedback for it, then said pm me, so I did; not like he didn't expect it coming. Besides, if its something your selling, you make sure its correct..

Nobody forced Finn to resign, and, to my knowledge, his resignation was at least partially planned long before the anonymous feedback was left.

Finn was a great admin. Although he showed a lot of sarcasm and bashed others, he always had a point. Talk to him for a month and the way you view things would be different, and you’d have Finn to thank.

If Finn made a mistake, it's that he carelessly publically stated that he had bought a macbook, which of course aroused suspicions, as people believed that he bought it withthe donation money. However, I believe Finn to be a person of morals and proper standards, that he would never do such a thing.

In addition, if he did, he would have not come announcing it in public and kept it to himself. He is not nine years old.

It was just all bad timing, and could have been avoided had Finn's excitement over his macbook had not clouded his judgement. That was Finn's one and only fault.

You seem to be under the misconception that people are spending five, ten, fifteen, thirty dollars for a fourteen page eBook you wrote because they simply want to read it and be more informed about your Sythe career. While I'm sure this is part of the reason people bought the eBook, the number of people who would of bought it from you would have been significantly less if you were not in need of financial aid. I fully sympathise with your real life situation, however, I'm sure that they were just a little concerned about how their money - given to you out of the goodness of their hearts because of your real life situation - was being spent.

I respect you as a staff member and it is sad to see you go, considering all that you've done for the site. I really hope that the criticism on how they believed you to spend your money was not the cause of your leave.

Nobody is saying that it played no role in the number of copies sold and nobody is denying the effort put into it. Realistically though, how many of those copies do you think were bought because people wanted to help him, an administrator who has contributed greatly to Sythe, when he was in a difficult situation? Do you really think people would be spending five to thirty-five dollars (I believe FireZ spent something around this mark for it) for a 14 page eBook? Many hardcopy books with hundreds of pages sell for only five or ten dollars. The authors of the aforementioned books have poured hundreds of days into writing them. They know "what the fuck they were "buying", but clearly the members who complained bought it with the intent of helping Finn out. Do you think they would have bought it otherwise? If I told someone I was in need of financial aid and my friend bought a slip of paper with a joke on it for 100$ in order to aid me, do you really think he'll be amused to find out I spent it on a shopping spree? Sure, they knew "what the fuck they were buying" but that doesn't mean they don't have a right to be irritated if they believed that Finn was not in a situation of financial difficulty afterall or that he was, but opted to spend the money on a shopping spree, especially if they bought the book with the intention of helping out. Granted, this wasn't the case and Finn didn't spend it on the Macbook, but he could have cleared it up easily and resolved the situation by simply saying it was a gift. The people posting criticism as to (what they believed) Finn had done were not in the wrong at all.

I paid 50m for his ebook. I'm content with my purchase FTR. I really could care less what he did with my 50m gp.

    Exactly this.

I think the thread should stick to staff feedback, not discuss why Finn resigned.

On that note, Giverny has been doing an excellent job lately, and her activity has nearly tripled within the past few weeks. :)

I'd like to congratulate the whole staff team on clearing the report a scammer section. It is completely empty and by the looks of the new updates it's going to stay empty.
