I have no problem with you saying it, but you have to be able to take it back without running and infracting them or banning the user.

Refrain from telling me what I ''have'' to do -- it is my place to decide, not your own. I rarely infract users - considerably less than others staff - and when I do, I do so in response to a breach of rules. If you have a problem with an infraction I've issued, you may PM me to discuss it.

Too right you were infracted for that thread; it was inappropriate that you made a thread in that section regarding a ''kid [who] be stealing your signature''. The feedback section is for appropriate and mature expression of feedback - feedback regarding the site and its staff, not petty incidents of a user having the same signature as you. These quarrels can be reported in the relevant forum, or, perhaps less irritatingly, privately to a staff member.

Which is the exact opposite of professionalism; using highly opinionated statements which only purpose is an attempt to degrade someone who obviously didn't know they were doing something wrong.

Maybe you should try the letter in the drawer approach instead of letting your emotions get the best of you.

"Professional" way to handle that thread:

"CC, please do not create feedback threads for issues such as this. This is not the proper section and this problem could easily be resolved by a simple pm to a moderator."

Not even one word of profanity, crazy huh?

Clearly he had no idea he was breaking the rules, and once told he said he would not do it again. You calling him an asshole made him no more aware than just telling him. If anything, now he resents moderators a little more now. Is that the atmosphere you are promoting? A virtual prison where users are afraid to post in fear of being verbally assaulted and infracted by moderators.

The issue is not whether or not you can do something, but rather the confliction with what you preach to users. Double standards are just the beginning of someone who has corrupted their position of power.

I'll also be inclined to listen to your opinions on both professionalism and maturity when you remove your Schutzstaffel avatar, representing the deaths of some six million people. I'm not going to be embroilled in further debate regarding my use of a mildly insulting word that you have taken such unfathomable umbrage to. If someone is being an asshole, I will tell them so. If you can't deal with staff enforcing the rules, occasionally irritatedly, perhaps Sythe.org isn't the place for you.
