Using CheatEngine to wallhack counter-strike isn't stealing, it isn't really hacking either, at all.

Cite your examples, and if you're going to bring the RS Server Development example in, then your point is invalid.

I'm off to bed; I'll check back tomorrow morning.

I feel sorry for the guy who wrote the guide. He obviously did not know he would be banned for it. However, I feel someone who steals in person would steal online, and that already warrants a TWC.

I tried to find a way to get him unbanned through Sythe rules, what I actually found is that in incriminated him more.

In the Non-Virtual Items: Selling section, it clearly states:
    To answer the OP's question:
Sythe is private property. The owner of this websites sets out a set of rules that he likes, and he can tweak them at any time without needing prior permission. If he allows the trading of virtual items on a game, then it is allowed on his website. If he chooses to disallow scamming, then his staff are obliged to ban any scammers. If the staff feel that stealing is the real-world form of scamming, than they are free to ban any user who commits this act.

    Hope this helped.

Thank you. But nothing was proven to be stolen from Sythe. Just a measly guide on HOW to steal.

This is a videogame cheating site...

He's explaining how to do something which is not actually illegal, nor is it in the actual world.

For the last time, not only is stealing a physical crime, the staff have the right to remove anyone they see fit from the community.

Let me put it to you this way.

Theoretically, using the word steal on sythe is the same as using the word scam.

    Let's test this theory.

    User A scammed me

    User A stole from me

The same message is sent across.

Let's put this same theory into his guide.
    How to be a thief

    How to be a scammer

Let's also use this theory in parts of his guide
Ever seen something in a store you wish you could have, but you are just short of money? Well, here is a guide on how to steal this item.

Ever seen something in a store you wish you could have, but you are just short of money? Well, here is a guide on how to scam this item.

Do you see what I am saying?

Don't know what to write about? Here's what we're looking for:
    SCAR/Pascal
    Programming in general (C/+/++/Ruby/Delphi/Java/JavaScript/etc)
The internet. This includes HTML, XHTML, and markup languages such as that
    Computer Basics/Science
    Software
    Hardware
    Tweaks/Hacks
    Operating system information/guides/hotkeys (Linux/Windows/MacOSX)
    Internet Security
    Misc. Fun Guides

    I know it's a game...

I just gave him something that could help his case.
What not to write guides on:
    RuneScape / FunOrb
    World Of Warcraft
    Counter Strike: CS
    Habbo Hotel
    Illegal Subjects
    Magic Tricks
    Explosives & Bombs
Masturbation (Enough of these around the internet)
    Drugs (Paraphernalia included)

    Seems to be over laping.

In my opinion I think any type of hack is illegal, so that's why I posted it. But, I guess I might be missing something between hacking and something being illegal.

I also think it's a bit hypocritical, since most people sell stuff that is stolen.

The type of hacking that isn't allowed is phishing (creating fake websites to steal accounts), cracking, credit card fraud and so on.

What is allowed is hacking that involves computer games (ie runescape glitches) but not accounts or personal information.

It's really not that hard to understand.

Well this is sort of getting off topic, but I'll argue with it.

Yes, I went on google and typed "Define: hacking" and it came up with

In Wikipedia it says that there are many different types of hackers. The one that relates to our argument is 'Script kiddie'

So, therefore, it's a hack. Stupid or not it's a hack. Btw, I'm with you on this one. I think it's stupid to say that you're hacking a game by cheat engine, but it comes under hacking.

What are you trying to say...?

All you've given me is an irrelevant description off google and told me what a script kid is...

Ah, shit. I didn't read your post fully.

Teaches me to read the whole thing first.

But, what I'm trying to say is that I though hacking was all grouped as illegal until now. The stuff I showed off google was to show you why I thought I thought it was illegal.

Bad analogy, writing a guide on how to shoot a gun won't get you banned. It's not illegal to shoot a gun. Writing a guide on how to murder somebody would probably get your banned. Murdering somebody is illegal.

There was nothing illegal about that thread, and thus the user had no idea that the punishment would be that harsh, and thus it shouldn't be that harsh.

Breaking a contract is breaking a real life law. You can be sued, and thrown in prison over it.

Not sure if this was already posted, didn't feel like reading all posts.
