Staff deleting threads in spam forum.

I like how its the victims that want this to stop, its a spam forum, for spam, man up imo.

 

Well, obviously. If you were on the receiving end you'd realise there's a difference between "spam forum" and "continual harassment of individuals.

If you're warned not to do something, don't do it... simple.

 

Flaming is clearly defined in the rules as a infraction worthy offense. Why don't you go read them?

 

Well if someone is actually being rude and harrassing people I think they deserve to be reprimanded. Now I don't take offense to much, but then again I joke around alot and don't take things too personally.

 

OT i support the staffs decisions to infract/remove threads as they see fit. I also agree that if you have been warned to stop and you do not stop then you get what you having coming. Everyone goes into the spam forum and calls everyone faggots it happens daily. The difference here is that some people like to do it and then get mad when people do it to them.Some people handle things differently and know that it is a joke. Such as i made a thread about rune guru being a faggot and he voted yes and is bumping for more people to vote yes he is a faggot. I do however think that there should not be such a grey area on this subject.

Personally, the spam forum should be unregulated, and anything should go (aside porn/things that can get the site in legal trouble). However, it's Big Rich' site, and no matter how much people want or justify a change, it's up to him. I'm not saying that's a good or bad thing, but basically saying, bickering or even suggesting something that Big R doesn't approve of, will most likely not happen.

In regards to staff deleting threads; I can see why they are done. BUT, they shouldn't be deleted unless the individual being slandered/harassed requests it. If the individuals themselves don't care/mind, then I don't see a reason to delete anything.

Lets count how many times I use the word 'shemale' in the SF. Once every 2 weeks if even that? I have had 0 problems with people I've used the word on, if they don't like it and want me to stop, I'll stop no problem.

Pretty sure I've only ever called Elena that once or twice, and even then I didn't hear any complaints about it.

Lets just put it this way. If you were staff would you enjoy being called a faggot, queer or something. I firmly believe some staff take things a lot more personal than I do but I also believe that staff should get some respect. I don't get paid and work a full time job to support myself so I am not on 24/7 which apparently is also a problem since members seem to assume we should be on 24/7.

What I really hate then is when people pm me for a title change or some bs. Make me realize how demanding the users are.

 

Why would someone care what's in the spam forum? I thought the whole idea of spam forum is to put all those stupid posts in one place, where everyone could let their anger out or whatever they need to.

I think that there's no point in deleting anything there, it's spam and people shouldn't react to it as if it was serious. It's like trying to clean a public toilet. People piss and shit there, and trying to clean one piece of shit out of dozens is just pointless. If you start to regulate that forum, I'd suggest you delete it for good because it does not serve its purpose after you give people the fear of getting infracted over something they should've not written, even though it's defined as SPAM.

Just for your information, I never spend time in Spam forum thereafter I shouldn't care about what happens to it, but I do not agree with regulating something that's entire purpose was free of rules.

I understand that but you have the feedback forum to harp on staff if you think something is going on. I agree you shouldn't get infracted in the spam forum unless it's something ridiculous or something about someone else and they report it because they are offended. I also am assuming this is also limited to a few staff members since I joke with people in the spam forum alot.

 

you need to realize the moment you post in the spam forum no one cares who you are. also respect for what? you decided to be on staff team knowing you wouldn't get "paid" in anyway.

Seriously, what is wrong with everyone here? Why are you all such pussies and such care bears? It's internet! People say and will say shit about each other. The point of spam forum (at least how I believed it) was to put all them flamers in one place to flame each other so it'd satisfy some desire of theirs and leave the other forums untouched and it seemed to work, but now, for some strange reason, you're thinking that spam should have rules? It's like saying "let's censor 4chan".

 

Why is everyone so upset because they cant call people names continually? A joke's a joke, yeah, and that's what happens in the spam forum - but it's blatently obvious in some cases it isn't intended as a joke and is personal harrassment of a user in particular.

Telling someone "oh just grow a pair" is a ridiculous attitude to have. Why should people have to feel threatened or targeted just so you can get satisfaction from calling them names?

I, personally, wouldn't take anything in there seriously - but that doesn't mean to say everyone is okay with it. If someone isn't happy with how they're being treated, IMO, the staff should be there to enforce whatever's neessary (thread deletion etc). No, infractions shouldn't be given every time someone's called a name or something offensive is said, but if enough has been being said to make a user feel uncomfortable, I'd like to think they'd be reassured we'd so something about it. Why should we lose users or allow users to feel bullied because of those of you who get fun out of calling people names?

 

I'm telling you, if they feel threatened by posts on forums, they should really stop using internet, it's not a place for such people. Now if I threatened to kill you on spam forums, I should be totally ignored, I assume, since it's stupid to believe anything in such a forum. If someone does start to believe anything, then he's being TROLLED. It's NOT SYTHE'S RESPONSIBILITY to stop people getting trolled. It's the people who are getting trolled, they have to get to their senses and stop taking everything so seriously.

Uhhhh, I don't make a big deal in the spam forum. Oh so you don't think giving people respect is good to do? I believe that I've earned the respect and trust of alot of users by being fair. I didn't say it was a big deal of not getting paid.
