I just wanted to say thanks.

I saw your forum sig and got curious so I read about the scammer and his parents. That got me thinking, and I managed to track down exactly who the last person to scam me was, where he lived, and his home phone number.

One quick call to his parents and a threat of police involvement because of internet fraud and next thing you know my scammer has a change of heart. He unblocked me on MSN to tell me he "knows how much it sucks to get scammed" and that he had given me a full refund.

After checking to make sure he had I let him know that I thought it was quite a coincidence that he felt bad right after I tracked him down and had a short talk with his parents. Then I blocked him.

Anyway, thanks again- you saved me 87.50

 

Great Story and I'm glad I inspired you to take action. There is a professional way to follow-up which in the end is based upon the actions of the scammer. Your approach in this matter was very well taken. As for my own approach, I never enter into a purchase/trade without making sure I have the info required to follow-up as you did. Once again, thanks for the post.
