What I'm trying to say is, why would someone waste money just to save a few bucks on a company that is already nearly 50 years behind the times with no plan for its future or funding for the project?

SpaceX isn't 50 years behind? I'm not sure how you got that idea. They are at the cutting edge. People want to fund them because they are exceptionally cheap and have innovated more in their 14 years of existence than other companies have done in 30 or 40 years.

They can't successfully launch a rocket, they are 50 years behind?

They've successfully launched 26 rockets into orbit with payloads and only two have failed. Not sure why you think they can't launch a rocket.

I'm saying they can't launch a rocket using reused parts though, why are you twisting my words?

I mean just because they haven't tried yet doesn't mean they can't. They are taking an iterative approach. They had to figure out how to land the rockets before they could reuse them, ya know.

I know what you're saying, I never said they couldn't do it. I just find it pretty unlikely that they can reuse parts and be successful using that approach

Literally the entire first stage of the rocket. They are taking it, refitting it as little as possible, tossing a second stage on the top, tossing the payload on top of that, and lighting it up. The fuel tanks, sensors, engines, control flaps, computers, body, etc are all being reused.

You said "tossing the payload on top of it" What is the payload?

Whatever someone is paying them to put into orbit.

So it appears SpaceX is giving the company that contracted the launch $50M or a free launch. The payload was insured so it looks like they are not as in bad shape as they thought they were.

They still have not figured out what went wrong. They've asked people to send them any videos they have. They are investigating a few quiet noises a few seconds before the explosion and have not ruled out something striking the rocket.

What do you mean something 'striking the rocket'? You don't mean someone throwing a rock at it or something?

I'm assuming they mean literally any item hitting the rocket. People on Reddit are being dumbasses and saying maybe someone sniped it.
