Some vBulletin Questions

As I don't have much experience as an admin on vBulletin (the only vB forum I was an admin on, I was one for just a day), I'd like to ask a couple questions in this thread about some certain things before I make a post in the suggestions thread.

Does anybody know anything about this?



From what I can tell, it seems to be a feature (or addon) that allows you to require people to view a thread when they visit a section. So, you could set it so that you need to view a sections rules before being able to do anything in said section.

However, I have no idea how it actually works, if its part of vB or if its an addon, etc, so if anyone knows about it, I'd like to know.

 

you should check out the forum options in your adminsitration panel. You seem to have some sort of option enabled to force users to read the rules before posting. I can logon and browse if you want me to, it wouldn't take me long, but I don't know the exact location so I wouldn't be able to tell you in words.

 

I don't have a vBulletin forum, that screenie was from a community I used to be a part of. I want to know more about the feature or w/e it is so that maybe we could have that here on Sythe (so that people would actually read the bloody section rules).

Any Ad-on on vBulletin forums is called "Hack" or a "Mod" and these "Hacks" or "Mods" is divided into two parts, Plugins & Products. Mainly the Hacks or Mods are installed into the forums as a Product.. You upload an XML file through the admin-cp and it would be integrated with the forums automatically! There are advanced mods/hacks that require uploading some files to the forum directories and even editing some files in the directories!
If you want to change a MOD/Hack setting, you simply go to:
Administrative > Options > Mod/Hack Name in the drop down menu!
