    From what you've stated to Arcus, you went inactive and the account was hacked, the only people with the original info to the account is Arcus and it's safe to say he wouldn't recover it and take your gold.
    I also believe from what you've said to Arcus that it was your fault the account was locked (due to getting hacked) and that's why they're unable to recover it back.

    None the less, they won't be responsible for your gold/items on the account.
    Glad to see you finally got your refund though.
