I did not agree to anything. Just saying, if he has a problem with this site, he can freely click logout, and never return.

    Yes, to a lesser extent.

    I just keep trying.

You are taking too much from Sin's thread. There are ways of appeasing people that do not change the level of transparency in any major way. Ban reasons are given out regularly now and thats basically all that is needed if it is needed at all.

But, the problem that you attempt to fix grows dramatically. Time moves on and so does our community. Creating this single person will not solve your problem. In due course, that person will leave recreating that empty gap that was their before and so the process must be invented once more, taking up time during which other new moderators are infiltrating this website with new ways to hassle the community. It's an unstoppable force unless you choose to eradicate all of the moderators and completely change the whole system so that the community and moderators can finally integrate as an a whole. Their overriding power and pride will not let that change happen. As I said before, moderators are no fans to the possibility of an insight of change.

If your talking to me, my name directly contradicts me ever leaving Sythe and thus I never plan to.

Exactly. There is a whole thread in community general about Where did they go, and ban reasons are given out quite a bit. But when Cosrob i think asked about tyro, they just say none of your business.

True but until that person leaves it will be better and hopefully after some ways are figured out to appease everyone someone else will learn and be able to try to fill the void. This is as good of a fix you can get without dramatic change, which I am not suggesting because I know it will not be considered.

I do agree, SuF, that I feel ban reasoning for all of Sythe's bans should be explicit. But, like I said, this is already implemented here as well as many other places.

I'm marking ChristmasCracker significantly up in respect for his words: "If he has a problem with this site, he can freely click logout, and never return." They remind me a lot of an argument in SFA with Sythe I had months ago, where he pointed out that Sythe.org is not a government because you are free to leave whenever you want to. Now, I'm going to stop beating this dead horse and exit the discussion.

True also. If the team of highly trained monkeys are up for the task, then I will be glad to support your argument.

All the task is, is finding someone who can do the job. Its not any different than filling any other sectional spot.

If it's not any different, then be sure to expect irrational and absurd decisions made by this person. The person needs certain qualities and expectations in order to fulfil your desires correctly.

This pretty much summed it up. Not only will it provoke anger from people directly being repressed, but also people who do not want to end up being in their place.

I do have a bit of an issue with Finn's reply.

First of all, the thread I posted received over 2,000 views in less than 24 hours. By the large interest the thread received, I contend that it is not just the "unrepresentative elite" who care about the types of issues raised therein.

Even if it were true that only the elite involve themselves, that's your pool of future staff members, and most likely of long-term traders. They may be statistically unrepresentative of the total population on this site (the leechers who join for a week), but if you want to scale their importance, their concerns should absolutely be your concern as well.

No resources are "wasted" by encouraging them to stay with the site, and to suggest that it requires a herculean effort and a huge investment of time to address their opinions is bit overdramatic. Most of the mods spend their time infracting spam - is that really such an important use of time, that it cannot be sacrificed to address larger issues?
