So you're rationalising mass murder because it provides a distraction from the fact that some of your comrades will be killed..? Does anyone else see a problem here?

Red blooded americans who are happy to kill twelve innocent people?

Why is that an excuse to kill 12 innocent people? You're deranged.

America is *supposed* to have the moral high ground, why should you resort do being the lowest common denominator?

You'd think a soldier who is prepared to kill would have at least a basic idea of why he's going to kill.

Your government invaded Iraq (and dragged my country into it) because of the fabricated claim that Saddam's regime had manufactured so called weapons of mass destruction, not because of any terrorist attacks.

I think this is a pretty good illustration of the type of people fighting the wars.

All I'm saying is if we have to die fighting some stupid war, I see no problem with spilling their blood also. Civilians were caught in the crossfire...funny thing about war is its not supposed to "nice".

No. Who are happy we're over there and not them...Happy that we volunteered so there's no need for a draft.

Never said it was an excuse...Let me try and clear this one up for ya. Where I'm getting at is, this douche who put up that video is ONLY showing you the video. He is not showing you Soldiers getting wasted...but then again why would he? It would stray from intent of showing the world that soldiers are complete shitheads.

Once again let me clear this up for you. You act like what we are doing is a genocide....thats probably how you feel actually haha.
You and I will never know the real reason why we invaded Iraq, Its probably not for the reason they claim it was. You can have you're theories but you'll never know. And if they did have weapons don't you think they would use them? Better safe than completely fucked.

And honestly the only reasoning I need to kill them is because they're going to try and kill me. I am a foot soldier a mere pawn for the government to control, I need not know any political reason. All I need to know is my job and how to do it successfully...and my job happens to be what you're totally against.

I support those pilots until the very end, now if there was a field of kids playing soccer and they murdered them all...that might be a different story. They suspected them of having weapons and an rpg...in a hot zone. Kill them, I see no problem with this. Once again, this is a war...not a picnic. Regardless of what the reasoning behind it is...its still a war.

EDIT: I gives a fuck about you're country, why are you so concerned with mine?

They were never heroes. Soldiers are just people doing a job. They're no more justified than a plumber or a lawyer. If a soldier kills a civilian, that's a damn shame, but it's just like a lawyer failing to defend their client efficiently.

As for this video, people need to get over it, badder things have gone on outside of this war. Be that other wars or common incidents.

I do not see anything immorally wrong in this video, aside from the lines about "... those dead bastards..." and also the laughing. They had justifiable cause to open fire, however it's never justifiable to desecrate the dead.

The way the soldiers in this video executed the shooting and the mannerism they had asserts the fact that those soldiers in the helicopter were indeed not heroes. However, it is naive to say that soldiers are not heroes because of this incident. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident, there are tons more like this happening and innocent civilians dying from reckless air strikes and other military actions.

There are also soldiers that are taking the initiative to take a different approach. Many are trying to fight not with their firearms but through protection of civilian rights that are restricted by corrupted theocracies. In America, education is always provided equally regardless of sex but in many nations in the Middle East, women do not get educated because of their religion. Therefore, Western men like Greg Mortenson are reaching out to them without intruding and disrespecting their beliefs and culture.

Conclusively, you cannot presume that all soldiers are not heroes because of incidents like these.

Do some soldiers do good things? Yes.

Do some soldiers do bad things? Yes.

Is someone who signs up for a paid job 'a hero' by default? No.

Obviously. Only an idiot would think otherwise; however, I do think that some respect should be automatically given towards a soldier, as they are signing up for a paid job, but they are also still risking their lives for their country.

I for one would never have shot down a guy with an RPG, just because he was carrying it around doesn't mean he intended to use it. I would have waited until he had at least killed one of my comrades before attacking him.

Easy to sit here in our comfy chairs and criticize soldiers for killing people isn't it? Makes us feel better knowing that we would never have done anything like that if we had been in that situation.

That's horrible. You don't need to know the reasons? How could you live with yourself? I can understand the thinking of the people who believe they're being righteous, but this... they could have you killing to set up a god damn Walmart for fuck's sake. You wouldn't know a thing about it.

The video... I saw the RGP, or what looked like one. I saw the guy messing around with it (or doing something with it). In that exact moment, it could have been kill or be killed. Of course, you have to only look at it at that very moment. You can't forget that they chose to become hired murderers. Now, can anyone tell me what the reasoning was to shooting those men and children picking up the wounded man? There was no sign of a threat, from what I could see. Of course, the preteens might have had invisible automatic weapons or something.

The gallows humor... I don't think anyone should focus too much on it. I don't think I would ever find it necessary to joke about killing like that, but if I was a delusional boy in the military faced with life and death situations all the time, I perhaps might.
