Software updates, faster search coming

Dear Sythers

I've been working on site optimizations and new features the past few days. You might notice some changes, like the notification icon on your browser tab, and more frequent alert popups.

I appreciate that search has been significantly broken since the move from vbulletin. I have provisioned a large (24g ram) server to run an Elastic search backend for our (substantial) search requirements. I will be putting this together this week. Hopefully after it's up and running we should have a much smoother user experience with snappy search results at your fingertips.

Interested to know how you plan to get the data into elasticsearch. Also have you considered running say three 8gb ram boxes so you can scale horizontally rather than vertically, it will push you more to use elastic search in a way that is scalable.
