So Where Has Everyone Gone To?

I'm out of the loop-

Forums are long a thing of the past, and most users here have gone elsewhere. Ever since, I haven't really taken part of much internet communities. I might be shitposting on Reddit and commenting on youtube videos, but I never really felt that I'm part of a community.

No regular people I run into and make internet friends with.

So where has everyone gone?

 

Most people from our era are in their mid 20s now at the very least.

Moved in life? RuneScape being completely different to what it was 10 years ago? (or a combination of both)

 

used to lurk 4chan now everyone posts yellow. I don't get why lol.

anyone fill me in on what's going on over there?

I got like 15 people on twitter I care about and few people I watch stream

 

Hey man, long time no see. I just really miss how users in a community had identities. Notice how usernames on forums are the first thing you see in a comment, with their bigass avatars, username texts and signatures? It's really easy to remember people with this system. But on major communities such as reddit, you could have come across the same guy a hundred times and you wouldn't know it.

Ya serious bummer about forums dying off. What I don’t get, and maybe this is just me, is it feels like only in the last five years or so forums have entirely fallen off, but I don’t understand what happened that caused that change. Of course forums have really been slowly dying off since the introduction of widespread social media dominance on the internet, but forums held steady up until around 2014-2015 where I swear half the forums I browse suddenly either died out or are shells of what they used to be.

I mean, The reddits and the 4chans and the youtubes have all been around for well over a decade. Honestly? I think what has been happening is the way new users of the internet interact with the internet is just way different. Used to spend hours on the web just aimless surfing and stumbling onto random websites relevant to my interests and then revisiting those that I liked. Now? It’s you go on fb, or insta, or twitter, or youtube, and you do all your “surfing” around there. You arent out on the sythe dot orgs or none of that shit. Notice how all those big social media sites are all suuuper algo heavy to to always be pumping more stuff it thinks is related to your interests at you always. Keeps you on the site way longer. That’s whT i think is really driving it

Idk, that’s my take on it anyway. Things change and things stay the same. Way she goes.

 

I understand your point of view and i agree with you but there is so much more to be said on this topic especially when you are "woke", this shit runs deep when you apply real life society to what is actually happening on the internet tying in with the government.

I've noticed on some websites ive never gone too before and checked out for the first time. then all of a sudden im getting thrown so many adverts or things to buy of my interest every single day after that visit to that website. They are basically keeping track of us.

This generation has changed drastically and the technology is elevating by the masses. You realize what technology they bring out to the world has already been out but never shown to us. It's a process and or cycle they are getting the world accustomed to making AI technology a "normal" thing. Then there is the talk about 5G being a weapon against humanity. idk you guys should do your research and smoke a blunt. Most osrs players today are in there 20s-40s+ and most have moved on imo.
With osrs mobile being released. I think 30% of the rs community is of this generation TODAY (exaggerating).

I have alot more to say but ill leave it at that lol.

 

Life happens mate. Work, studies, family etc. Time is probably the most limiting factor.
