So, I know I'm an asshole who has bitched, whined, moaned, cursed, told off, manipulated, and have been generally negative about basically everything. I know Tyro threatened to ban me once and I know I was very close to this fate at least one other time. I know that every time someone else quit or was banned I took their rage and anger and let myself be convinced further of my ideas, trying to make it seem like what they felt was the same that I felt.

I rage quit the staff over Syed's banning, which I still to this day disagree with even though he deserves it completely and I have completely forgotten what it was even about. I purposely and maliciously started a wave anti-staff sentiment aimed almost entirely at Finn and have never answered for it. I have publicly and harshly denounced staff judgments using rule loops holes to try and keep my thread open longer. I saved multitudes of threads from the staff lounge (and almost got banned for leaking for that...) before I quit and have been leaked to since I've quit.

Through all of this shit that I've pulled, I have criticized the staff for every little issue I see, every thing that could have been done better, every policy that I believe should be changed. Essentially I have had the balls to be an asshole who has bitched, whined, moaned, cursed, told off, manipulated, and have been generally negative about basically everything, all while treating a large amount of people like they were worthless and terrible. I need to get off of my own fucking horse (not one of the literal ones I ride) and realize that I am exactly what I hate.

The upper staff, regardless of whatever I have said in the past, are there for a reason. Everyone is human and everyone makes mistakes but listing every little thing that someone has done wrong in five years is just the same as the bullshit politics I hate. There have been many great things done recently that deserve more than a passing "Cool, thanks". Matthew remade the donation site and made many donator perks automatically changeable. He also fixed that system immediately when Jimmy managed to hack it relevantly easily. Finn and Giverny brought back the guides section after people asked for it back.

Most importantly, however, when Finn and Matt got into a fight, they didn't just stay all pissy or make up in private. They told the community about it, showed everyone that they could overcome their differences and make something productive come out of it. They didn't leave anyone (namely me or clones of me) any way to put any notion into anyone's mind that there was any sort of problem or murky waters between them at all.

In a nutshell, everyone makes mistakes but that doesn't mean that they are bad. Praise for what is done right and well, offer thoughts on how things could be done better next time. Remember that everyone here is a Sythe user just like you and it only takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch. Try to make the most out of Sythe, help make it the best it can be, and help others do the same because that's what the staff do everyday, even if they put a foot wrong sometimes just like the rest of us.

Finn, I'm sorry I've been such a jackass to you in particular over the last however long it has been. I know you really do care about the site and the people on it and help whenever needed. I know we've "made-up" multiple times already, but I've never really apologized to you, so I'm sorry for that too.

P.S: This feedback is about particular people... So... technically it shouldn't be its own thread, but I'm still a rebel so bite me.

Can't help but notice the "good things" are mostly things that have happened in the last week. Is that timing what made you write this or have you been meaning to do this for a while and are just pointing to examples that are fresh in your mind.

 

Seems to me that this was the opportunity he was waiting for.

OT: The first step to resolving a problem is by admitting it.

Hopefully it will inspire many other members to do the same.

The insight you've provided will open people's eyes to see what Sythe is really about.

I'm guessing that although through all the guidance you've offered here, this topic was purposely directed more at Finn then anyone, due to the apology posted.

If you've honestly changed, this will be an interesting watch. You're notorious for the latent idiocy that you've pulled around here, the shitstorms that you've started, and the general aura that your presence brings to a situation. Your attitude is always pessimistic, and while sometimes constructive, is rarely taken to heart.

I'm like you in many ways, but I know when to stop. I don't involve myself in Sythe drama, but I point out a mistake and stand to my decision, no matter how presumptuous my assumption may be.

On the other hand, your actions in the above post are a phenomenal discovery for yourself, and one that can only be made on a personal basis. In your effort to disprove debauchery, you became the epitome of your own disgust. Just take a chill pill every once and awhile, and try to look at each situation divergent.

 

You're right, SuF. You were an ass, especially to Finn. I really hope this is genuine, and if it is, thanks for taking the time to acknowledge your wrongdoings.

 

I have a lot of respect for you, SuF. A lot of your past criticisms were, in my opinion, probably made for the wrong reasons and ended up just pissing everyone off because of how frequent and scathing they were. Over the past few months, though, I think you've become one of the most valuable members to the community. You are critical in a constructive manner and evidently have a lot of time for the site and share in my desire to see the site expand further and become better and more accessible wherever possible.

 

I know me and you have had a few battles but I hope that is all behind us. I can honestly say I can actually stand to read your posts lately and I like this and hope it stays this way.

 

I can't really say anything about the things that happened in the past, as I wasn't around to witness them, but from the looks of this thread, it seems you're a genuine person. Not to mention, in the past few weeks or so, I came to admire many of your arguments and views in the SFA section.

Given your recent attitude around the forum (and if I had never seen this thread) I wouldn't have ever thought you were ever an asshole.

 

I haven't seen too much of you recently but it takes guts to post something like this regardless. I haven't really witnessed much of the "bad" that you've done, but you've always been cool by me. Hope to see you stick around and make this community a better place.

This is extremely true. I was recently reminded of some emails I wrote a long time ago to my gaming clan and compared to those, everything I have done on Sythe is rated PG. Even if you go back and find some of my early posts and compare them to posts from now. There is a remarkable difference which makes sense since I was 13 when I re-registered after the hack.

 

I have been seeing you around more even since my previous post in this thread, and you really are improving.
I've been around to the point where I can see people, especially myself making drastic character changes. I hope that this will be continuing and genuine. Good job.

everyone deserves a second chance for every bad action they've made you have realized and pointed about every thing for what you fell sorry, that for me is admirable and the fact that you actually fell sorry for it is remarkable too, just do everything as you being doing it from a while a go you are a human and well move on and try that everyday means a new day to help improve and be a better person with your self and for everyone in the community
