Smartwatch for rowing

Since a few months I have been getting into rowing more and more, and I'm really liking it. I want to track how well I do and how much I am improving so I am kind of in the market to buy a smartwatch that will track my workouts.

The problem is, rowing is somewhat of a niche and I don't know any smartwatches that properly track everything. When I look online it's kind of 50/50 on most major smartwatches. One user says watch X its great for tracking while the other says it sucks.

tl;dr: I am looking for a smartwatch (or maybe another device?) that properly tracks my rowing workouts either in the boat or on the ergo.
