smart or happy?

Let's say they're, in this situation anyway, mutually exclusive.

Would you choose infinite happiness or wisdom? Knowing every secret of the cosmos, or not caring, because your brain is flooded with happiness?

I personally would choose neither, but if I had to choose one, it'd be happiness. I don't think it's worth living unless you're happy.

 

Happiness, id rather be dumb and happy, than a nerd and not happy.

I am happy already so I wouldn't mind being intelligent as well. It is said that happiness can destroy one's life. If you have wisdom, you may be able to create happiness for yourself.

 

No-one has ever died from being happy..

 

Who's to say that you can't be infinitely wise and still be happy? I choose that since the question never stated that I couldn't.

 

Most people (usually philosophers) have concluded that. Socrates may be most popular in that belief. And you get the common saying to the affect "ignorance is bliss". I agree, and I would rather be happy, of course.
But who knows if "infinite wisdom" can dwell with happiness... consider that it is something we can never achieve. Therefore, I think the speculation of such is silly. But I suppose it might be interesting to see people's answers.

hmmm it is possible to be a little happy and wise, you get to sit back and laugh at the people that have not woken up yet and reflect on how you were once that way

I would choose wisdom for every person i am around seems to tell me that I am one of the funniest nd out-going guys that they have ever known. Also if you have infinite wisdom you will be able to figure out how to get infinite happines You have to be smarter then the question itself

I'd go with happiness, for if you don't have that, then you don't have a life.. And don't get me wrong with this but I think that even with infinite wisdom, one could'nt figure out how to get infinite happiness...but whatever..

I would most definitely choose infinite wisdom. I would then attain enlightenment, and thus become infinitely happy.

 

i would choose happyness. beause if ur not happy then what do we have to live for? besides, what would the point in knowing everything be? there would be nothing left to find out in life. im sure many, if not all of us, have heard the phrase "ignorance is bliss." i belive this to be true with every ounce of my mind

 

Well, I would be infinitively happy, because infinite wisdom would drive a person insane. If you know everything in life, there is nothing to learn, therefore you will be bored of knowing everything. Although, you could also be saving many lives, by knowing things we currently don't.
