Well for all this time now, i have seen discussions about dynamic and static IP..my question is how do you get a dynamic ip? I have a static one since my ip never changes.

Dynamic IP addresses are included with your internet connection plan provided by your ISP. Dynamic IP addresses generally aren't given out with most connections.

If you can't get a Dynamic IP address, you can always just ask for a new IP address... most ISPs charge for that though.

While this is true, for a lot of the cable internet providers, your ip stays the same until a modem reset, in which case you are assigned a new IP. since most people keep their modems on 24/7 their ips dont change. A lot of ISPs these days do Dynamic IP addresses, and most will change your ip for free.
