Spring break contest website

I've created this website for a project I have. It is designed as a contest website for a spring break cruise with one band for a beer company (Budweiser). I'd appreciate any CnC as I have to hand it in tmmrw thanks

Don't like the main text font.

 

Think it'd looks better with a sans serif?

Consider making all the constraints the same. So the distances from the borders to the body text or image is uniform.

And if we're nitpicking, remake the 2nd body as well as make the spacing identical. Underlining the headers might help.

some waterbeads on the sides might look cool :3

 

Looks sweet, I think the red is to bright though, maybe blend in some darker red.

Why didn't you go for a more modern approach, it looks like a very outdated website breh

 

I dont know if there was specific things to do for the contest but I would use better colors + have a modern style like 75 def said.

Ah k. Thats a good idea since they wouldnt want to change their colors (I would guess). Maybe try changing things to make it more modern style than classic?

I think the font fits the relaxed/cruise theme 10/10.

To much red to me make it look a bit off.

 

The text is a little to plain / boring. It looks more like an assignment opposed to an actual website. Also the overuse of the colour red overwhelms the reader.

 

Typography is off, don't try to do fancy stuff with the social media icons, those are meant to be kept untouched or only slightly changed. Your navigation is looking like plain text now, try to work with some typography on the top navigation so it doesn't look like plain text. Modern sites rarely use inner shadow to enter text. Try to keep that to a minimum. The background of your design is standing out more than the images, avoid that, as you can see their real website has a gradient along the sides. Try to keep the text on the webpage to a minimum, this will be making the visitors leave more quickly.

Also do you have a preview of the hover effects?

 

My prof really liked my typography and was the one who told me to keep the navigation clean like that. Thanks for all the feedback guys, just got an 80 on this assignment

Some feedback I got from her was the too much red hehe, the flat UI components could look more modern. (The submit button, and code enter spot etc.) And the content was a little dull.
