Report a scammer participant

The people that open scam reports/ban evader reports put time to make those threads, and they should have a participant mini rank. (I'm dead ass serious about this suggestion)

Posting X amount of times in Report a scammer section gives you :

 

X amount of accurate/condemning reports would be more viable than just a specific amount of posts/threads made. Decent idea overall.

 

I love the idea and mini rank

But I feel like this would encourage users to scam one another. Then the scammer gets whatever they want, but then the person who got scammed makes a report , gets the person banned, then gets a point?

It's kinda like hey i got scammed and lost some money, but im one step closer to getting the mini rank.

And i know that there are active users who ban people on a regular just to keep the site clean, and im pretty sure that's what this is meant for.

 

I support a variation of this:
Only successful reports grant the rank.
Only ban evasion reports. (Why would we reward someone for getting scammed often?)
User bound and permanent rank.

 

I agree with the ban evader report (for obvious reasons of the minirank icon) and also with the successful report.

 

This got denied before because they didn't want to encourage such behavior to sustain or attain the rank.

Would be nice to have just as a regular minirank though...

I don't agree with this. While the thought behind it is genuine and of good meaning, I feel as though it will only have negative consequences.

What does this say about Sythe if there is a minirank handed out for people who report scammers? While yes, you can argue this is a good thing and possibly an incentive, the flip side shows a darker truth. There are a lot of scammers of Sythe, and while we do our best to try and keep people from being scammed, handing out a minirank regarding that subject only exemplifies that, and only parades the fact that there are so many that time was put into making a reward system for catching them.

I just think the implications that would arise from this would be more negative among the general majority.

 

The mini rank would make a lot more sense if it only pertained to vaders. And if anything, the mini rank shouldn't be Darth Vader but the Emperor since he's the one that killed Vader. Having a "Vader" minirank is a bit awk since you're the one taking down the vaders and you're not a vader yourself.

I would only support if it dealt with reporting vaders, but then again that would only incentivize Yousuck to report more and no one will get a chance to get the minirank

These seem reasonable

Kind of a pain for us, because we'd have to side note/Track Them all. If this were to happened though I think it only fair YousuckV2 picked the minirank as he's the one doing the bulk of This in the first place.

There is a detective minirank that FireZ gives out to people who do lots of this kinda stuff I suppose we could just use it more

 

I asked for Yousuckv2 to have that rank forever. It really should be used

I support both ban evader and normal scam reports counting; you don't need to get scammed to post in rasc. And we could make the detective rank this rank? Or not and just give that to yousuck for all eternity.

To add on to my previous comment...

The genuine purpose of participant miniranks are for raising activity. By associating it with site disputes, it implies that particular division is in need of an activity incentive. This is not the case. Should we be enabling users to feel the need to report other users for the sake of pixel acquisition? To me, such behavior is tasteless and degrades the integrity of the site. On the flip side, I would like to see this being a regular minirank, similar to detective.

I would agree that only reports of condemned evasion members should be counted towards the minirank so we don't get a huge influx of incredibly vague connections to try and get the minirank.

In that case, the only one that would have the rank is yousuck, lmao
