Signature Temp Disability Feature

I believe this is possible; basically there are certain users with certain images or signatures that sometimes can be tedious and annoying when viewing a forum especially if their a constant poster within the thread. Currently we can remove signatures, but this removes signatures for all users.

I'm suggesting if there is a possibility to remove signatures for specific users.
Toggle Option to disable individual signatures of individual users.

Examples of this would be Xeir0's or Shall Skills signatures; seeing the odd booby or ass pic sig is fine, but in a section like Something For All the constant signature every other post is annoying. Now I don't exactly want to toggle signature's off, because that defeats the purpose. I still wish to see peoples signatures not just specific ones always, it's constantly in your face. I mean if I wanted to see nude's I just go search for it really. (I have a feeling this will just be down voted, cos hey booby's and ass)

Furthermore, I don't want to have these people remove their signatures, because well their in line with the rules, and they shouldn't need to be punished with a removal or etc, but I know it can be annoying for some users' and therefore a simple toggle option for specific signatures/users would be a better option.

*Disclaimer* sorry for using Xeir0 and Shall Skills sigs as examples, and like I said above I don't want you guys punished for it or anything like that, just don't want it in my face all the time, especially when there's a thread I'm inclined to reading, viewing the partial nudes is off-putting and it stops me from wanting to participate.

I've searched a thread about this previously, and it was denied although it was due to images in the signature being disabled; ... or no signatures at all ! .. difference with my suggestion is... it's been 8 years since that thread, and we're in Xen. I have a feeling it would be easier to implement, on the question of time and effort being put in, I'm unsure if it's feasible.

 

If you don't like signatures, just disable then in general. There's so much other stuff to be done and this just seems unnecessary.

 

I don't dislike signatures, just the odd few annoying ones, that have in the past been removed or been told to remove based on it being annoying, for instance @Shall SKill ass signature. Like I said in OP it could be something to be done in the long run, not necessarily now with all the already Xen bug's and hiccups to overcome first.

Why are they allowed anyway? I thought posting any explicit pictures was bannable?

 

Personally I just use Adblock and block the specific image. Don't really see the need for it personally. No support.

 

This is exactly what I mean, if I'm at home and certain people siblings or parents can see my screen.. I'm more protective over a sibling if I don't want them to be seeing something while I'm just surfing, having to toggle signatures on and off for all users during surfing shouldn't be something we should go through.

If I'm on phone it's not something that's an issue, for desktops it is more so.

@Soviet Union I don't think it's recommended to tell people to Adblock on a website like this, from what I can remember reading it's not a good a thing.

alot of work for little result, just turn signatures completely off or as soviet said just adblock only those images.

 

What's wrong with using adblock? I use it and I have blocked ZERO ads on sythe so it doesn't hurt sythe at all, plus you can block those pesky images you're talking about. WIN WIN situation.

I don't know why I got the idea that it wasn't something we could do. Something to do with adblocker restricting the sites revenue.
Unsure if I've read something @Sythe said about it being bannable, or it was just a troll post in an SF topic Possibly.

So I would just disable it, adblocker, from working on sythe.org and only block the individual images.. does this block it continuously?

Also what about as chechen said when you're in public, what about people who surf sythe at school, libraries.. are we expected download adblocker?

 

I don't think the addition of this feature is more beneficial that the other suggestions/fixes we need are Imo this is just not worth Richard's time

Maybe he's 13 and doesn't want his lurking family peeking over his shoulder thinking that he's posting on some NSFW porn forum, maybe he just doesn't like the objectification of the female body, maybe he's a feminist and finds your taste in bathing suits is poor? Either way take it easy on the poor guy there's a billion reasons people don't want asses and tits flopping all over their screen when posting in a forum.

That being said I think using adblock to block signatures seems to be the only answer as adding such a feature seems to be ridiculous when it's already right in front of you. If you're using Google Chrome just type in "adblock plus" to the URL bar and click the first link from the Chrome web store and download. Make sure after you do this that you disable adblock on Sythe and then use it to block those pesky signatures.

Again what about in Public? Are people expected to download adblocker on public platforms. In the long term this could be beneficial to the users.
