It's a mix of a lot of texturing, well made glows/shadows, etc. to give off the 3D effect. Seems like you've been getting tutored by SMI. 9/10 because I don't like the pattern.

No he hasn't tutored me, just shown me a few places that are good and I just got inspiration from the site...

I was planning to remove that I didn't realise how ugly it was until i posted t everywhere :S
